Waitakere City and Napier City Rovers emerged as New Zealand's strongest clubs in 1993 with Rovers eventually taking a league and cup double. This match programme was published by Waitakere for the end-of-season play-off against Rovers at Auckland's Fred Taylor Park. Waitakere won the match 4-1 to go straight to the Grand Final. Rovers got a second chance and were able to reach the Grand Final by beating North Shore United in a subsequent play-off.
