Welcome to the fall edition of your Campus Connection! Not only is there a new format for you to enjoy, we also welcome a new President, Dr. TJ Arant, and his wife, Susan, to the campus. I’ve had the opportunity to escort the new President across the state to meet my fellow Board of Trustee members. I cannot wait for the Friends University family to meet TJ and Susan! You will have opportunities at many of the upcoming events. In the meantime, the latest Focus magazine has an excellent introduction. Speaking of upcoming events, Homecoming is Oct. 1! The class of 1986 celebrates its 25th reunion (can that be possible?). Make plans now to bring your motorcycle or car to drive in the parade, or join with other alumni in singing the National Anthem before the game. I look forward to seeing you on campus!

The Wichita Alumni Advisory Board has been promoting alumni talent for the benefit of student scholarships. Last year, my wife June and I were reconnected with Tammy Stamps, G’82, and this year, Mitch McVicker, G’95, will perform a concert Friday, Oct. 21. Tickets are available from the Alumni Office – $12 for general admission and $20 for VIP seating – you
won’t want to miss this! Be sure to visit www.mitchmcviker.com for more information about Mitch. Kipp Clark, G’88, has accepted a new job as head basketball coach at Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. Congratulations to Kipp, his wife, Jill, and their three children, Malori, Morgan and Nicklaus. You will note in this new format that much of your information on page 2 is already filled out for you. It would help the Alumni Office if you would take time to review that information. After you’ve done that, send an update in to the Alumni Office to let your classmates know what you’ve been doing! Just THINKING about it, doesn’t count (no names to be mentioned, but Dawn, you know who you are). Finally, my thanks to the Alumni Office for the relentless, hard work they do to provide us with information, activities and celebrations. I’ve had a chance to see some of the behind the scenes insights and WOW, we are so fortunate to have folks dedicated to Friends University!
