Color! The old format was, well, just that – old! I’m happy to say that by putting our heads together with our wonderful folks in the Public Relations Office, we have modernized the class newsletter while at the same time bringing you as much information as possible with as minimal pieces of paper filling up your mailbox. Increased pages! We’ve doubled the number of pages in which we can share updates from your classmates, spotlight some very important people like key alumni and faculty members, as well as provide reminders about upcoming events that you are your family will be invited to attend. Personalization! Using state of the art technology, we anticipate incorporating “Variable Data Printing” into our newsletter. What this means is that we can drop in information specifically relevant for YOU in YOUR own
newsletter, like reminding you about an upcoming class reunion or that we have your correct contact information on file. Check out the top of page two to see what we’re talking about.
By making these changes, we hope to hear back from more of you so we can share your personal and professional accomplishments with your classmates while at the same time keeping the class newsletter a vital part of your “life-line” to Friends University. We’ll continue to modify the class newsletter so we can make sure it is serving you, our alumni, the best way possible. If you have ideas for helping us improve Campus Connection, please be sure to drop us a line at alumni@friends.edu. In the meantime, the Alumni Office is currently looking for a volunteer who would like to serve as the class agent and write for this newsletter. If you are interested or would like more information, please send an email to alumni@friends.edu. In other news... Ashley Bergner, G’10, has accepted a job as a reporter at the Newton Kansan newspaper as of November 2010. Congrats, Ashley!
