Greetings fellow Friends’ alumni! I hope that this newsletter finds you having enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and looking forward to the joys of the New Year. Many events have been held on campus recently, including the 2011 Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the 13th annual Chili Cookoff, and after 17 months of work, the lights on the Davis Administration Building were turned back on just in time for the holiday season! You can read more about all of these events online. Some of our fellow alumni also recently celebrated exciting events. Marriage Announcements • Michael Beardslee, G’07, married Sarah Waters, G’07, in June. Michael is currently pursuing his graduate degree at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. • Kristine Schoeppler, G’09, married Bear Duplisea in March. • Kresta Toeppen, G’04, married Roger Bosley in May. • Cassie Meyer-Reif, G’08, was married in August. Birth Announcements • Ashley (Nicks) Scheideman, G’04, and husband Derek welcomed Quinn Inez in December 2009. • Deanna (Hicks) Wisdom, G’00, and husband Jeremy had a daughter, Adalynn Elizabeth. • Heidi (Weber), G’02/ M’07, and Scott Bowen, G’00/M’07, had twin girls, Joy Elizabeth and Jenna Lillian.

• April (Smith) Devan, G’03, and husband Aaron celebrated the birth of daughter Adriana Eileen in November. Professional Announcements • Patrick Woods, G’02, was honored as one of Greater Topeka’s “20 Under 40.” • Vinessa Waltermire, G’08, began as a Case Manager for Family Prevention at DCCCA, Inc. • Kary Harshbarger, FS’07, began working as a survey technician for the City of Fort Worth. • LaChrystal Ricke, G’03, accepted a position as professor of mass communication at Sam Houston State University. There are also some fun events ahead including the annual Friends University Easter Egg Hunts (Topeka and Kansas City hunts will be April 16 and the Wichita hunt will take place April 23) and the next installment of Great Conversation! will be March 8th at Wichita Scottish Rite.
