Greetings from your HRM class agent! I hope this newsletter finds you doing well! The search continues for a new president for Friends University. The University has conducted interviews and announced the four finalists at the time of writing this newsletter. More information about the candidates can be found online at www.friends.edu/presidential-search-updates. Plans are already underway for the annual Friends University Easter Egg Hunts at our Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City campuses! The northeast Kansas events will take place Saturday, April 16 and the Wichita event will take place Saturday, April 23. If you have the opportunity, make plans to join your alma mater for this fun event! Survivor, expert and activist Jodee Blanco is one of the country’s pre-eminent voices on the subject of school bullying. She is the author of the New York Times best-seller, Please Stop Laughing at Me and the award-winning sequel, Please Stop Laughing at Us. The lecture will take place Friday, April 1, 2011 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Auditorium, located in the Davis Administration Building. The Friends University Campus and Career Transitions Office is hosting its annual Career Fair Thursday, March 31, 2011, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Held in conjunction with Newman University, this fair will take place at the Newman Conferece Center. www.friends.edu/career-fair. Our congratulations go out to Jean Harrison, G’93, of Great Bend, Kan. She was awarded Woman of the Year 2010-2011 by the National Association of Professional Women. More information about this organization can be found at www.napw.com/site-tour/. Congrats Jean! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Laurie Dorschel, G’96. She went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2010. Laurie served honorably in the United States Air Force. She was devoted to her family and friends. Burial was in North Syracuse Cemetery in New York on November 9, 2010. Please drop us a note, we would like to hear from you.
