An old friend of mine, Charles Ott, FS’54, lost his wife Patricia (Beckett), FS’54, Feb. 23, 2012. Patricia was a member of the Mulvane United Methodist Church and a member of the Mulvane Federated Women’s Club. Charles lives near Peck, Kan., where he is in the farming business. Erma Lee (Phillips) Hass, G’56, is a retired educator and she and her husband Ervin, G’58, live in Yorba Linda, Calif. Erma had multiple sclerosis and they had to give up their home and move into a condo. They have three sons and eight grandchildren. Martin Johnson, FS’47-48, retired in 1992 from the Wichita Eagle as its chief financial officer. He attended Friends one year and transferred to Wichita State University and received his undergraduate degree in business with a major in accounting.

Bill Himebaugh, G’55, and Friends University Athletic Hall of Fame inductee had a large write-up in the Wichita Eagle about his love for his wife of 57 years, Janet. She has Alzheimer’s and Bill is with her every day. They met at North High School and they both graduated in 1949. I was on the 1950 football team when Bill played. What a character and a fun guy. Bill and Janet have one daughter, Karen. Dr. Antone Godding, G’59, was an organ professor at Oklahoma City University for many years. The organ that he has played at the Nichols Hills United Church in Oklahoma City was named the “Antone Godding Organ” in honor of his 36 years of service there. The rededication of the refurbished Reuter Organ took place Oct. 23, 2011.
