The new year is upon us. I can remember back to when I was a kid and thinking, “When I’m forty, it will be 2001, and when I’m sixty it will be…” Well, let’s not go there! In high school, “1984” by George Orwell was more than a book and “2001: A Space Odyssey” was more than a movie. They were years that were still out there and certainly seemed like science fiction. Now those years have come and gone and we are living in that future. It isn’t exactly as was predicted but amazingly many of our techno-gadgets far exceed the imagination of Orwell and others. Now let’s see, in 2036 I’ll be 75 years old. I wonder what our world will be like 25 years from now...
