Greetings to all our alumni that graduated from the PACE program! We here in the Alumni Office are always excited to hear from you and what you have been doing since you finished your degree. More importantly, we are looking for someone who would like to volunteer to write for this class newsletter.

The whole purpose of the class newsletter is to give our alumni an opportunity to network with one another, no matter where you live or where you work while still keeping in contact with Friends. The duties are minimal and the benefits are well worth the time invested into writing the class newsletter. If you are interested or would like more information before making the commitment, please send an email to alumni@friends.edu. Many thanks to the following alumni that wrote in with recent updates:

Interested in volunteering to write for this class newsletter? Please contact the Alumni Office. You are invited to the inauguration of President Dr. T.J. Arant.

Melvin Pugh, G’04/’06, recently wrote a book titled “Roman Rule: The Eternal Empire” published by AuthorHouse in October 2011. His book is available online at Amazon.com in print and as an ebook, and on Google books as an ebook. Congratulations, Melvin!

Robert Phillips, G’05/’07, became a registered representative with Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal life insurance and financial company that was founded in 1883 and is based in Rock Island, Ill. Robert opened his own office in Viola, Kan., in September 2011.

Richard Parks, FS’05, writes to say that he loves the new format for the PACE class newsletter. Thanks Richard!

It is with much sadness that we also share with you the passing of Brian Klusener, G’03/’06. Brian passed away of a sudden illness Dec. 15, 2011. For many years he worked as a computer programmer in Wichita, and most recently as a delivery driver for Senior Services in Pittsburg, Kan. He is survived by his wife and sons, and memorials may be made in his honor to the Boy Scouts of America or the St. John Lutheran Church Activity Center in Pittsburg. As always, you can keep the Alumni Office posted of your endeavors by completing the information on the top of page 2 of this newsletter and mailing it back to us.
