The excitement for the Falcon football team from friends, family, alumni and dedicated fans was obvious at the barbeque tailgate prior to the Friends vs. Ottawa football game on Saturday, November 3. While the weather turned out to be great for football, the Falcons unfortunately couldn’t secure a win over the Braves. The final score was 3-35. A big thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the yummy barbeque sponsored by the Kansas City Alumni Advisory Board. It was great to see a lot of support for our football team. Go Falcons!!
The Kansas City Alumni Advisory Board wants to hear from you! Be sure to watch your e-mail inboxes for a short survey the week of December 3. You could win a Nike hooded sweatshirt!
Update on KC AAB Volunteer Jayneen Hammons, M’00 You may recall earlier this fall, we spotlighted Kansas City alumna and KC AAB volunteer Jayneen Hammons, M'00, regarding her battle with congestive heart failure. We are happy to report that Jayneen had heart transplant surgery November 17 and is doing well! She was also recently featured on Fox 4 News as part of their "Pay it Forward" series. To watch Jayneen's story, please click here. Members of the Kansas City Alumni Advisory Board helped celebrate our adult and graduate students the week of November 5-8 by handing out special goodies to more than 60 students at the Lenexa Education Center. This is a nationally recognized event celebrated the first week in November each year.
