This course is designed to look at 50 methods of thinking that lead directly to motivation for yourself, students and those around you. This workshop is appropriate for all levels.

Instructor Ruth Dey: Good organization skills help eliminate many factors that cause teachers stress both professionally and personally. When working with students, we know being organized diminishes distractions and increases our ability to remain focused. Topics addressed are organizing your room, paper, and life to receiving pathways to reach every learner. You will also receive a valuable collection of reproducibles for classroom use. This workshop is appropriate for all levels.
L3. Making Math Engaging Dates: June 13 & 14 Credits: 1

Instructor Patricia Jordan: Participants will learn how to enrich whole class instruction by using math centers, games, activities, and manipulatives. Participants will learn how to teach the common core standards by choosing activities that compliment their teaching objectives and appeal to all learning styles and abilities. Guidelines and shortcuts will also be explored in creating a math technology lab. Participants should learn how to motivate and create a love of math in their students while teaching and reinforcing needed skills. This workshop is appropriate for elementary and MS levels.

Brain Breaks = Happy Students Dates: June 25 & 26 Time: 9:00 am-4:30 pm Credits: 1 Course #: EDUC 5001-01 Instructor Maurica Gilliland: Are you looking for an easy way to help your students increase their focus, knowledge, and therefore their happiness? Do you want to diversify/differentiate without having to completely change your lesson plans? This brain break workshop will include research information, brain breaks that have been implemented, and the opportunity to create brain breaks specific to your needs and student needs. This workshop is appropriate for all levels.

Instructor Ruth Dey: Did you know that preschoolers laugh about 450 times a day and an adult only 15 times? How many times do you laugh or grin in a given day? This workshop can provide a roadmap to put more humor in your life. Using humor will help you reactivate; experience the healing power of humor and help yourself and others feel healthier and happier. This workshop is appropriate for all levels.

WORKSHOP REGISTRATION INFORMATION FRIENDS UNIVERSITY All workshops are offered for graduate level credit and available to licensed educators. The workshops are recommended for renewal purposes, postgraduate, or professional enrichment. To register: Complete and detach the pre-registration form below. To pre-register by phone using a credit card, call (316) 295-5516 or 1-800-794-6945 ext. 5516. Payment must be received to hold your spot. Make checks payable to Friends University or call (316) 295-5516 to have charges made to your Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card account. Tuition is $145 per credit hour. No pre-registrations will be taken the first day of the workshop. All pre-registration must be completed prior to the start of the workshop. An e-mail reminder will be sent the week before the start of the workshop. No refunds will be issued beginning one week prior to the workshop start date. A $25 cancellation fee per credit will be assessed on all refunds requested. If the minimum number of participants do not enroll, the workshop will be cancelled, you will be notified and a full refund will be given. All workshops will be letter-graded. As a result, projects/assignments will be assessed. Unofficial grade sheets will be mailed out by registrar after the grades have been posted.
