Tattoo Renaissance A Visual Journey Through The World of Body Modification By Victoria Kortekaas

Tattoo Renaissance

Introduction Tattoos have been around since Neolithic times and have endured through the ages. Tattoos at one time or another have been prevalent in society.

Tattoo studios are still stereotyped as hangout places for criminals, bikers, burley lads and thugs but this is no longer the case, if it ever has been. The tattoo studios of today are professional businesses with standards ethics and rules. They are places that are visited by all sections of society.

There are many reasons why people get a tattoo and each have their own story to tell. The story that is not so often told is the story of the place, process and tattoo artist that created the tattoo.

This book is a visual journey through this world of body modification and a testament to the people within it.
