MEMORIAL DAY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The MGA Memorial Day Golf Tournamament was held on May 24th at Ocean Creek Golf Course with 42 participants divided into four flights.

Format - Singles Stableford Point system for each player.

John Newman and Dennis Perrone tied with a total of 38 points each for Overall Championship. John won on the first hole of a playoff between John and Dennis by one stroke.

Epic Battle for the Ages!

On Tuesday, May 18th, the WGA (women’s) golf group challenged the MGA (men’s) golf group to see which one had the superior golf skills. The tournament called the “Battle of the Sexes” was made up of 22 two-person teams or 44 individuals battling for the overall bragging rights. The tournament was truly a nail biter with the individual match points going back and forth all morning long! When the tournament finally ended, there was no clear winner…Yes…you got it…it was a tie - 16.5 points for the women and 16.5 points for the men!

After the tournament was completed, all of the golf warriors enjoyed a lunch at Peg Legs. Beautiful weather, great team spirit, delicious food and fun for all!!! I guess we will just have to wait another year to see which group is truly the superior one with full bragging rights. Stay tuned for next year!!!!
