Editor’s Message

What’s up Franklin Monsters!

First and foremost, I am so incredibly proud of our club members, and especially our board. We experienced an absolute ‘rollercoaster’ (haha get it) of challenges to get to Fall Rally North 2023 but as a result of group work and efforts from our amazing advisor Ms. Ilsley, we pulled it off. AND to top it all off, winning the spirit session with Division 7 South made all of those efforts worth it. As we now move into post FRN season, I hope that you all decide to remain dedicated to Key Club as many more service events are coming in the near future. Key Club has so much more to offer and putting in the effort to continue your Key Club journey will definitely be worth it as we all learn to grow together while serving the community.

president’s Message Hey Monsters! I hope quarter 2 has been amazing for you guys! Although we ran into some difficulties with FRN transportation, I’m glad everyone found their methods of transportation and still participated in FRN! Words cannot express how proud i felt when we won FRN session 2. Thank you guys for showing up and always being supportive. The PB&J making was also super successful! we made around 200 sandwiches for the homeless and about 40 thanksgiving cards for patients in hospitals. we appreciate the efforts and time you guys put in for our community <3 Overall, october was a super successful month! Don’t forget to pay your dues and keep serving!!

Seeing all of the monsters doing the chants and having fun was a true joy to witness. Teaching the chants, however, was the real highlight as I, alongside the other Spirit Committee members, got to see all the new members have their first real experience with Key Club! Personally, our new chant "BANG BANG CHOO CHOO TRAIN'' is my all time favorite! I love all of the components that go into it and especially love when we go silent. The effects and visuals that that chant has is so crazy cool. Jasmine Phan ‘26

The Giant Pumpkin Festival was a great volunteer event that takes place in Elk Grove park every year during the first weekend of October! As a volunteer i transported pumpkins and helped visitors. This event was a valuable opportunity as I was able to interact with the people in our community and assist at a fun, local festival. I would highly recommend volunteering at the Giant Pumpkin Festival next year! Attending service events is a great way to or bond with your friends or meet new people. In addition, you gain new experiences and can develop problem solving and teamwork skills. Be sure to check out the service project information forms so you don’t miss out on some amazing opportunities! Catalin Situ ‘25

Fall Rally

The long awaited Fall Rally North 2023 finally arrived, and orange monsters, I’m so proud to say that we won the spirit stick!! Though our club faced some challenges to get here, our practice spirit sessions absolutely payed off with our board and club members’ enthusiasm. The entire day was so fun, starting off with our early access to the various rollercoasters. Seeing so many new faces and division mascots was exciting and I hope that everyone was able to meet some new friends from across the Norcal region! Then, finally came the Spirit Session, the moment we all waited for.

North 2023 Everyone was so high spirited and it was amazing to see so many people come together to celebrate our funds raised for PTP. Just seeing our hard work come to fruition and hearing the entire D7S stomping out Bang Bang Choo Choo Train was truly amazing and there’s no better way I would spend my last Fall Rally.Vivian Wong ‘24
