Walk along Vienna's most celebrated sights. See the Imperial Palace (former Residence of the Habsburgs), their beautiful Gardens, the Spanish Riding School, the Opera House, and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, which marks the very heart of the city. Vienna also stands for "savoir vivre,” or wining and dining. Your guide will explain the background of Austrian’s favourite culture. In the afternoon, consider a hairdresser appointment or 45 minute Waltz lesson. Evening State Opera Vienna – Opera Ball – February 8, 2018 Once a year, Wiener Staatsoper turns into the world’s most beautiful and elegant ball room for the Vienna Opera Ball: a glamorous gala of unique splendour and allure, the ball of all balls, and much-copied around the world. Where opera and ballet performances capture the audience only a few days before and after the Opera Ball, some 5,000 visitors party away and dance into the small hours of the morning. International celebrities from the world of culture, business, politics, academia and sports make the ball a high-key social event. Opera and ballet stars, the orchestra of Wiener Staatsoper and the Vienna State Ballet all contribute to the glamorous opening. Millions of spectators will be watching on their screens how the 150 young couples forming the young ladies and young men’s committee make their dream come true as they dance the first polonaise on the ballroom floor. After that, it’s Alles Walzer or “Let the waltz begin!“ From music and dance all over the opera building, to sumptious floral decorations, ladies in elaborate gowns, gentlemen in elegant tailcoats, fabulous celebrations with friends, and unexpected encounters – the Vienna Opera Ball is an unforgettable event each year!

Spanish Riding School or Cooking Course
We offer: • 9:30 a.m. – short walk to the Spanish Riding School to attend • 10:00 a.m. – morning training (exercise) Training of the Lipizzaner Stallions The morning exercise offers an insight into the years of training of the Lipizzaners and their riders. Accompanied by classical Viennese music the riders and their horses do simple relaxing exercises and exercises aimed at refining and perfecting a certain movement. Through the specific strengthening and building up of the muscles, the horses’ natural movements are developed into the perfect figures of the high school of classical horsemanship. As we do not want to put too much strain on the horses, the classical school jumps, which are shown during the performances, are not practised on a daily basis.
12:20 p.m. – followed by an exclusively guided tour through the stables GUIDED TOUR - Take a look behind the scenes of the Spanish Riding School In an exclusive tour of the Spanish Riding School you will visit the Winter Riding School, a gem of Baroque architecture. You will also visit the Summer Riding School which houses the world’s largest oval horse walker and the stables in the Stallburg. The Summer Riding School is known to be Vienna’s most significant Renaissance building with its beautiful arcade courtyard and the historical stables of the Lipizzaner stallions. You will see the various locations which account for the special charm of this establishment and you will learn about our history, the equestrian tradition and about the Lipizzaner stallions – our stars!
