Pacific Helmets Offer the ultimate in protection, flexibility, comfort and safety. These Dupont™ Kevlar® lined helmets are lighter in weight and provide superior impact protection and heat resistance compared to most other popular helmets. Pacific Helmets are the only helmets that offer the optional built-in flashlight holder for improved hands-free illumination.

Why DuPont™ Kevlar®? The benefits include:

Sheer Strength - the shell is virtually unbreakable as Dupont™ Kevlar® retains it’s integrity and will not tear. Dropping a complete helmet will often mark the paint or even chip through to the fabric, however, the shell will rarely break or split. Light Weight - matched against the equivalent woven fiberglass material, Dupont™ Kevlar® is 20% lighter. This creates a helmet that is as much as 100gms lighter than a fiberglass reinforced helmet.

F3CT

Compatible with both AFR0107 Traditional and F3C Metro helmet styles only. In the early 1960s, eye protection was not widely used among firefighters. That would change after a New York City firefighter was hit in the face with a piece of angle iron during a fire. That firefighter was Lester (Les) Bourke, and he worked at FDNY Engine Company 231 in Brooklyn. Les was working the hose line inside a burning auto repair garage, when the hose spray hit a piece of angle iron that was attached to the ceiling with a single bolt. The angle iron started swinging, and the end of it hit Les in the forehead – right under the brim of his fire helmet. The force of the hit knocked Les to the ground and left him momentarily blinded by the blood gushing from his forehead. Although the cut healed over time, Les was left with a desire to find a way to protect his eyes from dangerous objects he encountered while firefighting.

General Features Alliance Fire and Rescue, Inc. uses a variety of fibers to create the highest quality knitted “sock” style hoods that provide the wearer with protection from flash fire hazards. The 2-ply construction adds thermal insulation in cold weather conditions.

Nomex® Protective barrier. A key factor in the thermal protection Nomex® provides is that it carbonizes and thickens when exposed to the intense heat of today’s fires. This increases the protective barrier between the heat source and the skin and minimizes burn injury. This tough, protective barrier stays supple and flexible until it cools, which gives you valuable extra seconds of protection when you need it most. Nomex® Durability. Garments made from Nomex® are also durable — lasting, on average, two to three times longer than most other standard and protective fabrics, including 100% cotton, polyester/garment blends and FRT cotton. In fact, industrial launderers estimate that the average wear life of protective apparel made of Nomex® is approximately five years, and that it can be washed and worn at least 125 times. Comparatively, garments made of FRT cotton can be washed and worn an average of only 36-50 times. Lenzing FR is a specialty viscose fiber. The abbreviation FR stands for “flame resistant”. Lenzing FR® is a natural fiber derived from wood. It offers protection from heat and flame in a variety of different applications. Unique thermal insulation properties combined with permanent flame resistance make Lenzing FR® a “Heat Protection Fiber”. It offers protection from all kinds of heat and its functional properties help to prevent heat stress and heat stroke.
