Welcome to the Gathering! Welcome to this celebration of a key moment in the life of Frontline Church! Today marks the end of a season of transition and the beginning of a new season in the life of the church. It is fantastic to have you with us! If you need anything during the service please speak to a steward in a blue t-shirt – they are here to serve you. During the meeting we will be taking up an offering to send relief aid to those suffering in the refugee crisis in Calais. All the money given will be sent to those providing help or will be used to purchase supplies useful to these agencies. If you would like to give by credit / debit card please fill in your details on the ‘Thank You’ envelope in the pack on your seat. If you want to pay by cheque then please make cheques payable to ‘Frontline Trust’. Don’t forget to gift aid your gift if you are a UK tax payer. We pray you encounter the goodness of God during our Gathering today.

40 days: the big idea As the ’40 Days’ is a season of prayer, fasting and reflection, it might be helpful if we all started making some practical plans. Here’s some simple questions which we could be asking ourselves: Prayer (during the 40 days) - Am I going to attend the weekly prayer gatherings? Which ones, on which days or times, and in which locations? What practical arrangements do I need to make? Fasting (during the 40 days) - Am I going to fast a few meals each week? Which meals, and on which days? Whom do I need to communicate with about this? Reflection (during the 40 days) - Am I going to reflect on any particular ideas or scriptures during the season? Would it be worth downloading the Sunday talks each week? Could I use the ’40 days’ bible reading plan which is on the Frontline website or available to pick up from the welcome table. All the other, general practicalities for the 40 days are up on the Frontline web-site, along with John Harding’s video, which outlines the big idea for this time, in case anyone has missed it: www.frontline.org.uk/40-days-a-time-of-preparation/. You can also pick up a 40 days leaflet from the welcome table.
