A visual Celebration of our community

Slaughter Pen Farm

Sometimes it's interesting to view things from an unexpected angle. At Slaughter Pen Farm, just outside Fredericksburg, I would bet that most folks look at it from the road and think about the Civil War battle that occurred there.

I am more intrigued by the old farm house that sits among a few trees just back from the road. In fact, I found the back of the house much more interesting than the front with all the roof angles and boarded-up windows. It seems to sit there in forlorn isolation with only its bitter past for company. I tried to capture that feeling.
