The Departure of Saint John Chrysostom نياحة البابا يوحنا ذهبى الفم بطريرك 27th November - 17th Hator م47 القسطنطينية On this day, the honorable Saint John of the Golden Mouth هاتور١٧ - نوفمرب٢٧ (Chrysostom), departed. He was born in the city of Antioch يف مثل هذا اليوم تنيح القديس الجليل يوحنا around the year 347 A.D., to a rich father, whose name was سنة وقد ولد مبدينة إنطاكية نحو، ذهبي الفم Sakondos and a pious mother, whose name was Anthosa. تقية وأم، من أب غني اسمه ساكوندس347 They brought him up well and reared him in the Christian وأدباه، فربياه تربية صالحة، اسمها انثوسا tradition. He went to the city of Athens, where he learned فتعلم، وميض إيل مدينة أثينا، باآلداب املسيحية the Greek wisdom in one of its schools. He surpassed many in knowledge and in virtue. He forsook the vanities وفاق، الحكمة اليونانية يف إحدى مدارسها of the world and became a monk at a young age in one of ثم زهد يف أباطيل، كثريين يف العلم والفضيلة the monasteries. He had a friend whose name was Basilius, وكان، العامل وترهب من صغره بأحد األديرة who was a monk before him in that monastery. It was St. Melatius, Patriarch ثم رسمه قسا القديس، بطريرك إنطاكية of Antioch, who had raised him to this rank. Then he was وملا تنيح، فابيانوس خلفه بإرشاد مالك الرب ordained a priest by St. Phlapianus, St. Melatius’ successor, نكتاريوس بطريرك القسطنطينية استحرضه امللك by the guidance of the angel of the Lord. فسار يف البطريركية، أركاديوس وقدمه بطريركا When Nectarius, Patriarch of Constantinople departed, وكان مداوما عيل التعليم والوعظ، سريا رسوليا Emperor Arcadius summoned St. John and made him ، وتفسري كتب الكنيسة القدمية والحديثة، Patriarch. He conducted himself during his patriarchate in وكل ذي جاه وهو ال يخىش، وتبكيت الخطاة an apostolic manner. He continued teaching, preaching and ، باسا أو جاها interpreting the books of the church, both old and new. He boldly admonished the sinners and the wealthy, regardless و كانت اوذكسيا امللكة زوجة أركاديوس محبة of their authority or wealth. فاغتصبت بستانا ألرملة مسكينة فشكت، للامل Queen Eudoxia, the wife of Emperor Arcadius, had a lust أمرها للقديس الذي توجه إىل امللكة ووعظها for money. She took a garden which belonged to a poor وإذ، كثريا وطلب منه إرجاع البستان إىل صاحبته widow by force. The latter complained to the Saint, who مل تطعه منعها من دخول الكنيسة ومن تناول went to the Queen and admonished her and asked her مجمعا فتملكها الغيظ وجمعت عليه، القربان to return the garden to its owner. When Eudoxia did not لرشورهم من األساقفة الذي كان قد قطعهم obey him, he prevented her from entering the church and فنفي، فحكموا بنفي القديس، وسوء تدبريهم partaking of the Holy Communion. While the people were sorrowful أما اوذكسيا فقد انزعجت، بسبب نفي القديس because of their righteous shepherd, a severe earthquake واضطربت روحها فهرولت إىل زوجها وطلبت took place and almost destroyed the city, terrifying every وما أرشقت، منه إن يعيد القديس من منفاه one. The people thought that this was a sign of the Lord’s

As for Eudoxia, she was disturbed, her soul was troubled and she went in haste . فرحا وعويلهم برتانيم البهجة والرسور to her husband and asked him to bring back the saint from إذ كان باملدينة، ومل يدم هذا الحال طويال exile. He was the bishop of Neocaesarea, in the وقد، التي ولد بها من أبوين غنيني وثنيني province of Pontos, where he was born to rich pagan parents. تعلم منذ صغره الحكمة والفلسفة حتى He learned philosophy and wisdom at an early age and sur ثم رحل إىل بريوت، فاق كثريين من أترابه passed many of his colleagues. In the year 239 ويف سنة، ميالدية237 وعاد إىل بلدته سنة، A.D., he was baptized in the holy baptism and became a اصطبغ باملعمودية املقدسة واصبح239 Christian, for he realized the vanity of this world and chose ودوام وإذ تيقن زوال هذا العامل، مسيحيا the way of the everlasting kingdom of heaven. He directed all العمل إىل وجه كل اهتاممه، مملكة السامء his attention to the salvation of his soul. When they did not find him, they decided to take a Bible and pray the prayer of ordination over وإذ مل يعرثوا عليه قر رأيهم إن يأخذوا إنجيال ، كأنه حارض، ويصلوا عليه صالة التكريس it, as though he were present. They called him Gregory even though his given name was Theodore. Glittering slogans … mere empty كان.. يدفعون الثمن كالما أمثال جليات pledges without actions … be careful, beloved … يرعب جيوش أسرائيل بالكالم والمظهر there are many who have been destroyed because of قيمة ولكن داود الفتى الصغير أظهر له.. just talk … there were many who followed the Lord .. كالمه ومظهره أمام قوه اله اسرائيل (Jesus) Christ … and offered only word … where are they now?? … St Paul tells us bitterly “For many هل حياتك الروحية.. وأنت أيها الحبيب هل كل ما أنت مستعد أن.. مجرد كالم walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell تدفعه ثمنا لملكوت السموات هو مجرد you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god مجرد عهود.. كالم ؟؟ شعارات براقة is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who .. إحذر أيها الحبيب.. جوفاء بال عمل set their mind on earthly things” Philippines 3:18 -19 .. فهناك كثيرون هلكوا بسبب الكالم … هناك كثيرون كانوا يسيرون وراء السيد St Paul often mentioned them and their devotion, أين هم.. وقدموا له كالما فقط.. المسيح love and faith but alas these were in appearance only يكلمنا القديس بولس الرسول.. اآلن؟؟ … just talk … and at the time of trials, they all left « وهناك كثيرون يسيرون.. بمراره him alone … St Paul written this letter from prison in ممن كنت أذكرهم لكم مرارا واآلن chains … أذكرهم أيضا باكيا وهم أعداء صليب The saints used to labour quietly and some had spent المسيح الذين نهايتهم الهالك الذين آلهتهم tens of years in the wilderness without seeing another بطونهم ومجدهم فى خزيهم ويفكرون فى human being … they paid the cost (of their faith) in .. 18 ::3 3 األرضيات « فى prayers, struggles and tears and not in just talk … كان القديس بولس يذكرهم مرارا ذاكرا they left for us holy perfumed legacies and not just غيرتهم ومحبتهم ويمدح إيمانهم ولكن talk … there are many saints whom we only hear of .. مجرد كالم.. كان فى المظهر فقط their legacies and we have nothing written from them
… but there are thousands who offered their lives in martyrdom without even leaving their names … also, there are those who left their words, written with their sweat, blood and tears … every word they written with amazing deep love and prayers … one feels that the words are inscribed in (glorious) light not ink. How many had stood in the Areopagus in Athens (at the time of St Paul) and offered fiery speeches which set the listeners’ hearts on fire … or rhetoric and poetry which entertained the crowds … but all was only just talk went and disappeared in the air … and just a few words spoken by St Paul the apostle which the philosophers and the learned dismissed as babbling but these few words had great effect in the hearts of many and in just a few years these word destroyed all the pagan philosophy of the Greeks … and you my beloved are you still offering just talk to gain the kingdom of heavens?? .. just talk will not build anything … and at the time of storms, all the houses which built on just talk will fall … but even will flown away by the winds … + sit down first and consider …. Many are those who rush into the spiritual life without guidance … all they want is to join the crowds … they don’t want to deviate from the crowds and the events … at the time of fasting, they will fast … not because of the benefits of fasting but because everyone is fasting … and at the time of special events, they will go to church (again) not to benefit … but because at these times everyone will go to church … just for the outer appearances’ sake only. Many are those who followed the Lord Jesus when He fed the multitudes with five loaves and how very few followed Him to the Cross … many who were willing to offer St Paul and Barnabas offertories, honour and glory when they performed miracles … and much more are those who beaten him because of the advise of the Jews who incited the crowds against them … it is amazing indeed, those who are willing to fast but willing to repent?? Willing and want to attend church but (at the same time) not willing to give up the cigarettes?? Or even his or her pack of cigarettes and there is no objection to carrying it in their pockets to the church … remarkable it is for the sisters who are prepared to attend the church but only prepared in appearance to partake of the holy communion … but unwilling to cover up her head and maybe will
يكتب.. وفى وقت الضيقة تركوه كلهم وحده القديس بولس .. هذه الرسالة من السجن وهو فى القيود لقد تعود القديسون أن يعملوا فى صمت ومنهم من قضى عشرات السنين فى البرية ال ودفعوا حساب نفقتهم فى جهاد.. يقابل إنسان تركوا لنا.. وصلوات ودموع وليس بالكالم هناك.. سيرة عطرة مقدسة وليس مجرد كالم قديسون كثيرون نسمع فقط عن سيرتهم ونكاد بل هناك آالف الذين تقدموا.. ال نقرأ لهم كالما لالستشهاد حتى بدون أن يتركوا لنا مجرد وهناك أيضا من قدموا لنا كالما.. أسماءهم كل كلمة.. مكتوبا بدموعهم ودمائهم وعرقهم كتبوها من خالل صلوات عميقة وحب عجيب تشعر أنها كلمات مكتوبة بل منقوشة بالنور.. .. وليس بالحبر كم من كثيرون وقفوا فى األريوس باغوس فى أثينا وقدموا خطبا نارية ألهبت قلوب أو أشعارا ونثرا طرب له.. الجموع ولكن كله كان مجرد كالم ذهب.. الحاضرون ولكن مجرد كلمات قليلة.. فى الهواء وأختفى قالها القديس بولس الرسول أستهزأ بها الفالسفة وسخر منه العلماء ولكن كانت هذه الكلمات لها تأثير عجيب فى قلوب كثيرين وفى سنوات قليلة حطمت هذه الكلمات كل فلسفات اليونان وأنت أيها الحبيب هل مازلت تقدم.. الوثنية الكالم.. كالما تشترى به ملكوت السموات ؟؟ وفى وقت العواصف تنهار كل.. ال يبنى شيئا بل تطير وتتقاذفها.. البيوت المبنية بالكالم فقط .. الرياح .. يجلس أوال ويتشاور+ ما أكثر الذين يندفعون فى طريق الحياة كل ما يهمه ان ينضم.. الروحية بدون مشورة يريد فقط ان ال يتوه عن الزحام.. الى الزحام .. فى وقت األصوام تجده صائما.. واألحداث ليس ألن الصوم مفيد بل ألن الجميع يصومون فى وقت المناسبات تجده يذهب الى الكنيسة.. بل ألن فى مثل.. ليس ألنه يريد أن يستفيد شيئا مجرد.. هذا الوقت يذهب الجميع الى الكنيسة .. مظهر خارجي فقط ما أكثر هؤالء الذين ساروا وراء الرب يسوع عندما اشبع الجموع بالخمس خبزات وما أقل ما أكثر الذين.. هؤالء الذين تبعوه الى الصليب كانوا مستعدين أن يقدموا لبولس وبرنابا ذبائح وما.. وكرامة ومجدا عندما صنعا المعجزات أكثرهم أيضا الذين ضربوه حتى كان ان يموت بسبب مشورة اليهود الذين .. عجبا حقا لهؤالء.. هيجوا الجمع عليهم من هو مستعد أن يصوم ولكن ليس ليس مستعدا أن يتوب ؟؟ مستعد ويريد أن يحضر الى الكنيسة ولكن ليس مستعدا أن يتخلى عن

بمناسبة عيد تجليسه الحادي عشر البابا تواضروس الثاني وسنوات من المحبة أ.د رسمي عبد الملك رئيس قسم العلوم اإلنسانية بالكلية اإلكليريكية بالقاهرة قداسة البابا تواضروس الثاني ،على مدى السنوات اإلحدى عشرة التي مضت (١٨/١١/٢٠٢٣ - ١٨/١١/٢٠١٢م) التي كانت مليئة بالعطاء ،تشعر ويشعر العالم كله بأنه صاحب رسالة روحية وإنسانية موجهة إلى الجميع ،وهي رسالة المحبة ،تلمسها في كل عظاته وكلماته ،فبدون نعمة الحب ال نعرف هللا ،ألن "هللا محبة".. وما زلت أتذكر كلمات قداسته بوم استالم عصا الرعاية ،وما زلت متأثرا بها بكل مشاعر اإلكبار واإلعجاب والفخر حيث قال; "أنا معتمد على نعمة هللا ،ومحبة كل اآلباء، واألراخنة ،وكل الشعب القبطي .وعلى قدر ما يعطيني هللا من جهد سأبذل ما في وسعي لخدمة كل فرد ..صلوا من أجلي ،ومن أجل هذه المكانة التي سمح بها الرب ،عن غير استحقاق مني لهذه المسئولية الثقيلة ،التي لن ينجح فيها أحد إال من خالل روح الصالة... حقا نلمس في تعامالته مع الجميع كيف يعيش بروح المحبة على الجميع قدر استطاعته .تشعر إنه اسم على مسمى "عطية هللا" .هو معنى اسم تواضروس "" The Gift of God ولكي يدعم قيمة الحب والتي تعتبر العمود الفقري للمسيحية ،نرى في رحلة حصاد هذه السنين ال١١ما يلي: +توظيف العلم والدراسة العلمية في بساطة وتواضع ومرونة ،بذهن منفتح لتصريف األمور بميزان حساس ،كما تعلم كصيدلي ،والميزان ال يجامل أحدا .كما اكتسب سمة التدقيق ،مع محبة النظام ،والجمال. ومن خبرة قداسته كصيدلي أيضا أن الدواء يجب أن يقدم في أجمل صورة ،وألن الدواء مهمته األساسية تخفيف وإزالة األلم ،فاستحق أن يحصل في أغسطس ٢ ٠٢٣م على درجة الدكتوراه الفخرية من جامعة بازماني بيتر بالمجر عن دوره الفعال في توظيف التعليم المسيحي ألجل خدمة البشرية كلها. +يجيد التعامل مع األزمات والتحديات بدبلوماسية رائعة أساسها المحبة وربح وخالص النفوس. +محبته جعلته يهتم بجميع الفئات; الطفولة ،الشباب ،المرأة ،كبار السن. +منفتحا في الحوارات واللقاءات والمؤتمرات بأنواعها المحلية والقومية والمسكونية. +يدعم بيت العائلة المصرية لحراسة الوحدة الوطنية والتي يحلو له تسميتها "وحدة المحبة" بين األزهر والكنيسة للحفاظ على النسيج الوطني. +االهتمام بأبنائه في المهجر بالتعاليم الكنسية والوطنية بمنهج تكاملي شامل يربطهم بوطنهم الغالي وكنيستهم القبطية األرثوذكسية. +بكل ما يمتلك من محبة قلبية حقيقية ،يذكر من سبقوه بكل فخر واعتزاز :البابا كيرلس السادس ،البابا شنوده الثالث ،ونيافة األنبا باخوميوس مطران البحيرة (القائمقام البابوي) ،أطال هللا عمره ،الذي أعلن نتيجة القرعة الهيكلية باختيار قداسته ليصبح البطريرك ١١٨خليفة للبابا شنوده الثالث ،وراعيا لشعب الكرازة في مصر والخارج ،وحارسا لإليمان والعقيدة األرثوذكسية ،والتمسك بمبدأ "نتعب كثيرا لكي ترتاح الرعية". +يدعو لتربية األجيال على قبول اآلخر ،واستيعاب حقيقة أن االختالف في الرأي والتوجهات ال يتحول إلى خالف أو صراع أو صدام. قداسته شخصية توافقية يدعو للحوار البناء الموضوعي بوعي وحكمة ،مثيرا لإلعجاب في أي نقاش فكري أو أي لقاء .أضف إلى ذلك حالوة لفته ،ورشاقة كلماته. ويهذه المناسبة المباركة ،نصلي أن يحفظ هللا لنا وعلينا حياة وقيام قداسة البابا تواضروس الثاني معلما وأبا وراعيا وحاميا وحارسا لإليمان والمحبة.

The new Building is expected to be ready February 2024. church services are continuing as normal as in the Timetable inside the Bulletin. You can donate monthly contribution using Direct Debit forms available in the church or downloaded from church website.
Cost of building works is around $13,000,000.
