Ingenyo F1, lo último de Vilmorin-Mikado

La evolución comercial de Vilmorin-Mikado en los últimos años ha sido muy positiva. Sus variedades de pimiento siguen ganando cuota de mercado en el segmento temprano y, al mismo tiempo, pretenden copar cada vez más espacio en otros segmentos. Para ello, están en pleno desarrollo de variedades de California rojo en medio y tardío, y de amarillo para complementar a Eglantine F1. Todas ellas incorporarán resistencia a oídio y nematodos y, previsiblemente, pasarán a fase precomercial en la próxima campaña.

En su ciclo más fuerte, el temprano, la última novedad de Vilmorin-Mikado es Ingenyo F1, actualmente en su primer año en el mercado. Ingenyo F1 es la tercera referencia de la gama NyO con resistencia a oídio, tras Nyobi F1 y Nyostar F1, ambas también para ciclo temprano. Tanto Ingenyo F1 como Nyostar F1 incorporan, además, la resistencia a nematodos.

Las fechas de trasplante recomendadas son en mayo y junio, recuerda Serafín Romacho, delegado comercial.

Todas ellas son variedades de entrenudo corto, con facilidad de manejo para el agricultor. Y sus frutos son homogéneos durante todo el ciclo de cultivo y ofrecen un cuaje continuado.

En cuanto a las especificidades, Ingenyo F1 tiene más porcentaje de frutos GG, y un color rojo brillante muy atractivo, valorado positivamente por las comercializadoras.

Punto a favor

Tanto Ingenyo F1 como sus predecesoras comparten una característica: su facilidad de cuaje con blanqueo en condiciones de altas temperaturas. En los últimos años el cambio climático está provocando que se acentúen los problemas en los cultivos, y contar con una variedad que siga cuajando y en la que además no haya que quitar el blanqueo “supone varias ventajas, como que se implante mejor la fauna auxiliar, y de que las plagas tengan una evolución más lenta”, enumera el delegado comercial.

In recent years, Vilmorin-Mikado’s commercial evolution has been very positive. Its pepper varieties continue to gain market share in the early segment, and, at the same time, they intend to take over more and more space in other segments. In order to do this, they are in full development of red California varieties in medium and late cycles and in yellow to complement Eglantine F1. All of them will incorporate resistances to powdery mildew and nematodes, and they plan to move to a precommercial phase in the next campaign.

Early cycle is their strongest area, where the latest new development from VilmorinMikado is Ingenyo F1, currently in its first year on the market. Ingenyo F1 is the third reference from the NyO range with resistance to powdery mildew, following Nyobi F1 and Nyostar F1, both also for early cycle. Both Ingenyo F1 and Nyostar F1 also incorporate resistance to nematodes.

The recommended transplanting dates are in May and June, Serafín Romacho, the Sales Delegate, reminds us.

All of them are varieties with short internodes, with ease of handling for farmers. And the fruit are homogeneous throughout the growing cycle and offer continuous setting.

Regarding particularities, Ingenyo F1 has a higher percentage of GG fruit and a very attractive bright red colour, which is highly valued by marketers.

A point in favour

Both Ingenyo F1 and its predecessors share an essential characteristic: its ease of setting with whitening in high temperature conditions. In recent years, climate change has meant that the problems in the crops have been accentuated and having a variety that continues to set, where the whitening does not have to be removed “means several advantages, such as improved implanting of auxiliary fauna, and that pests have a slower evolution,” the sales delegate states.
