THINK: HARINGEY THINK: SUCCESS COURSE GUIDE 2019/20 #H6Experience

Principal & CEO: Russell B Lawrance BA (Hons) PGCE (Dist)

Welcome to #TeamHaringey6 Thank you for your interest in Haringey Sixth Form College. I have been in post now for two years and I am truly excited by the opportunity of leading #TeamHaringey6 to the next phase of its development. As I write this we are part way through a journey of massive improvements. We have rapidly accelerated student numbers, improved student outcomes and are making significant investments in our staff and our facilities. I hope this welcome gives you a feel for the culture and principles that drive across Haringey Sixth with the current and you future students, and indeed staff. To be part of #TeamHaringey6 you must aspire to be outstanding and be comfortable with high levels of expectation, and also high levels of fun. The progress of all our students on both A levels and BTEC’s is the best of all colleges in North London according to the DFE performance tables 2018. We want students who are willing to go the extra mile, who want to be leaders. Indeed we expect those high expectations of everyone here at H6. Above all else, all our young people come here with high aspirations. We help to make them outstanding citizens. This is not a college for cynics, you need to be achievement focused, we have an explicit focus on student outcomes. It is simple really - we run this college for the benefit of all students. It is not over ambitious to say that we are building something transformational in Haringey. You will gain the skills and qualifications to progress to university or to operate in an increasingly competitive workplace. To this end, our role in improving the life chances of the young people in our communities should never be underestimated. I look forward to meeting you in person with a view to exploring your future with us.
