French-English Bilingual Pre-Primary School
Where there is vision the children will flourish
On behalf of everyone at L'Ecole des Petits, may I offer you a very warm welcome. Bienvenue!
Established in 1977 as a French-English school in the heart of London, L'Ecole des Petits offers a bilingual curriculum for children to start their educational journey.
We strongly believe that providing a bilingual education from the earliest age brings huge benefits to your child's development.
Our ethos underpins our core values of respect, curiosity, freedom, friendship, resilience, achievement and openmindedness, and where we always place your child's safety, well-being and happiness first.
Absorbing more than one language and culture together is an enriching journey towards mastering true bilingualism. Every child has their own path to follow, sometimes steep and sometimes gentle, and sometimes with a pause to reflect and adjust - but crucially they are never alone with our support always present.
Mr. Laurent Balerdi, Principal
We pride ourselves on offering your child the best of both worlds in order for them to start their bilingual journey.
Our aim is simple: to help children become proficient in both French and English while gaining insights into the rich cultures associated with each language.
Through a unique approach, our pupils are taught in both French and English by dedicated teachers. Working closely together, they follow a tailored curriculum and schedule.
By blending the best from both systems our pupils master skills in both languages from an early age and develop adaptive and open-minded capacities in their approach to the world of tomorrow.
“They blend the French and English curriculum seamlessly which has given my daughters an international outlook and broadened their horizons.”
“Children become well-rounded individuals, confident with their peers and adults, and bilingual in French and English.”
OFSTED
We believe in blending tradition with innovation to provide a dynamic bilingual education.
Tradition encompasses respecting the cultural heritage and linguistic customs of each person and language within our community.
Simultaneously, innovation ensures we remain adaptable and responsive to the evolving needs of our young learners and society. This may involve adopting project-based learning methods to nurture curiosity and exploration, or incorporating interactive learning tools to stimulate creativity and collaboration.
By integrating tradition and innovation, we create a rich educational environment that acknowledges our past while equipping pupils with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in the future.
We prioritise the happiness and safety of every child, with a strong focus on pastoral care and well-being.
We cultivate a warm and supportive learning environment where pupils feel valued, respected, and cared for.
Our commitment to nurturing each child's individual needs with empathy, support, and personal attention is further strengthened by our small-class sizes, ensuring that every pupil receives the care and guidance they deserve.
Our ethos of "teaching with care" reflects our dedication to the development and success of every pupil, ensuring they feel happy, safe, and supported throughout their educational journey.
“The
“Through such profound change in the world around us, our children (and families) could not have been more fortunate than they were in your care.”
Our school community embodies a welcoming family atmosphere, where children and adults alike are valued and supported.
This ethos reflects our commitment to nurturing strong bonds among children, staff, and families, fostering a sense of belonging and support within our community.
Our aim is to create a warm and inclusive environment where every individual feels welcomed, accepted, and celebrated for who they are. We strive to create a supportive and enriching educational experience for all.
Our environment fosters the development of longlasting friendships among pupils and families, creating bonds that endure beyond their time at school.
