It is important that children are on time for school. Lateness means that they will miss valuable learning time.

when we can meet to discuss your child’s progress. We take all concerns raised by parents and carers seriously and school staff are always on hand to deal with any queries or concerns. We also have a Family Support Worker who is available to offer guidance or support if necessary.
‘My son is doing great. The teachers are amazing and make us as parents feel comfortable and reassured that our children are safe’ PARENT
The West Grove Way We have very high expectations of our pupils and we expect them to follow our school values in their interactions with one another. Pupil’s behaviour in the school is excellent as children demonstrate the West Grove Way.
Staff work hard to promote values and to look for and praise good behaviour in pupils. We use a range of reward systems to motivate children to behave well and treat each other with kindness.
Friends of West Grove Friends of West Grove are parents and carers who meet to organise a variety of social and fund raising events. Money raised goes towards resources for the school to support children’s
learning. All West Grove parents and carers are welcome and are automatically part of Friends of West Grove.
‘Pupils’ behaviour is outstanding. Pupils are keen and are very helpful and respectful to each other and adults’

Governing Body The Governing Body take a keen interest in everything that concerns the school and the children. Governors are drawn from a variety of backgrounds to bring their
expertise and different perspectives. They meet regularly and are committed to ensuring that the school builds on its successes and offers all our children an excellent education.
Healthy Eating and Lunchtime We encourage healthy lifestyles and healthy eating. Good food is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, so younger children are offered fruit and milk throughout the day and all pupils are encouraged to drink water. We prefer our children to eat school meals and we work with the Local Authority to ensure that school meals are appealing to the children and are
nutritious. Meat, fish and vegetarian alternatives are always available alongside a salad selection, fresh fruit and bread. If children choose to bring a packed lunch we expect parents and carers to provide a balanced and healthy meal. We do not allow fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate in packed lunches. We are a nut free school!
Early Birds Club Early Birds offers breakfast and after school club childcare facilities for children from reception to year 6 who attend our school. Early Birds offers parents the opportunity to leave their children at school in a safe environment outside the normal school hours. Breakfast Club runs
from 7.30am each day and after school club runs until 6pm. Light meals are provided at both sessions. They also offer a holiday club during some school holidays. Places should be booked and paid for in advance. Please contact Early Birds for more information: earlybirds1@live.co.uk
