Basmati rice is a nutritious grain to include in children’s diets. It provides them with plenty of starchy carbohydrate that they need for energy and growth as well as some important vitamins and minerals needed for good health. Rice is an easy to digest grain and as such it is one of the first grains offered to babies when they start to wean. For various reasons rice can disappear from children’s diets until they become older, so Tilda Kids is a range of products that offers the opportunity for children to enjoy rice. Children should be offered wholegrain foods as part of their daily diet, however encouraging them to eat some wholegrain products can be a little tricky. Wholegrain rice tends to be one of the wholegrains children find more acceptable and is a good source of additional fibre, vitamins and minerals. The Tilda Kids range contains fruit and vegetables with each pack providing 1 of their 5 a day. There are also serving suggestions for each flavour designed to make up balanced meals that will support good health and wellbeing.

Dr. Sarah Schenker 1

Lunch is a vital meal for us all, it is the one that fills us with energy for the rest of the afternoon and helps to boost concentration. At lunch time it is important that your kids get the right foods to keep them going for the rest of the day. A healthy lunch should include carbohydrates, protein and vegetables. Rice is a great carbohydrate to include in your lunch and in the lunchbox. Rice ensures that the energy is being released slowly throughout the day and will enable your kids to play out all day.
