DEAN’S SOCIETY BREAKFAST HEALING FROM MICHAEL

STUDENT SHOWCASE

The 2nd Annual Showcase featured creative research presentations on dance training, dramaturgy, cultural-based art therapy, how design can revolutionize the way we shop for groceries, and more.

Graduate students in Art Therapy worked with K-12 students and community members in Panama City through the Stars of HOPE therapeutic art program post Hurricane Michael.

CLASSROOM TO CAREER

ART FOR ALL: EXTRASENSORY Sculpture students exhibited a sensory stimulation experience created with particular consideration for a visually impaired or blind audience, in collaboration with local non-profit Lighthouse.

The 2nd Annual Interior Architecture & Design Career Day expanded with a professional panel and Young Alumni speaker Amanda Guerrier, attracting double the number of companies vying for IA&D students.

Guests learned about the history, creation, and significance of the recently acquired David Leventhal photographs at the FSU Museum of Fine Arts.

ARTS INNOVATION

Cutting-edge 3D imaging technology was explored through an in-depth modeling workshop where students learned to create digital replicas of art objects. This innovative technology will enable the study of fragile or inaccessible artifacts.

STUDENT HUMANITARIAN ALUMS ON BROADWAY

BFA Musical Theatre Alumna Christiani Pitts starred in the stage musical adaptation of King Kong that opened on Broadway in early November. Pitts made history as the first woman of color to play the iconic role of Ann Darrow.

FSU President John Thrasher presented Art student Madelene Wishart with the President’s Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year Award for her service in low-to-no income schools in rural India. Madelene taught art curriculum to seventh grade students and aided in the creation of long-term public art.

NEW SCHOLARSHIP

Emeritus Professor Anthony Morgan established an Undergraduate Choreography Award in Dance to support a student whose choreographic work exhibits excellence.
