ABOUT THE ARTISTS Dr. Javian Brabham is the Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Brass Area Chair at Valdosta State University. As an active performer, Dr. Brabham serves as principal trumpet of the Valdosta Symphony and Albany (GA) Symphony Orchestras. He has also performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, New Mexico Philharmonic, Northwest Florida Symphony, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, the Colour of Music Festival Orchestra, and completed his Carnegie Hall debut with the Gateways Music Festival Orchestra. He has presented recitals and masterclasses at universities and conferences across the country including the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors Conference, and more. He holds the Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University in Trumpet Performance, with a certification in college teaching. He also holds the Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of New Mexico and the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University. Dr. Benjamin Vasko is on the faculty of the University of Central Florida and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where he gives lessons in tuba and euphonium, coaches chamber music, and teaches repertoire classes. Dr. Vasko holds the Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas and the Master of Music degree from the University of Georgia, both in Tuba Performance. His primary teachers were Sam Pilafian, Charles Villarrubia, and David Zerkel. Vasko completed the Doctor of Musical Arts at Boston University under Mike Roylance. Dr. Vasko’s recent highlights include a Spring 2022 tour to New York City to perform in Carnegie Hall with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the 2022 Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular with the Boston Pops and the recording of “Lord of Cries,” John Corigliano’s newest opera, with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Dr. Vasko performs frequently with the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass and Brookwood Trio (trumpet, tuba, and piano), performing concerts and outreach programs across the country. Dr. Beibei Lin serves as Assistant Professor of Piano, Graduate Coordinator, and Assistant Department Head of the Music Department at Valdosta State University. She was awarded the Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award in 2017 in recognition of her teaching. Dr. Lin debuted as a soloist with the MasterWorks Festival Orchestra at age seventeen, performing Prokofiev’s First Piano Concerto under the direction of Miriam Burns and continues to maintain an active performance schedule as both a soloist and chamber musician. As a researcher, Dr. Lin’s work on the pedagogical trends in 21st-Century China was published in the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy Forum. Serving as Vice President of Membership for Georgia Music Teachers Association, Dr. Lin hosts the GMTA Podcast which has reached audiences all around the world. Dr. Lin received the Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the Florida State University. She completed the Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude, in Piano Performance at Arizona State University.
