Caritas abundat in omnia, de imis excellentissima super sidera,

And most beloved of all, For the highest King The kiss of peace she gave.

Singkap Siaga To open, ever ready

This piece is inspired by traditional instruments used in the Wauang Kulit Kelantan shadow puppet theater practice drawing on the power of darkness and light. This piece is a reminder that “light and shadow are equal in beauty” and helps us shift away from negative connotations associated with darkness.

Mystery

“Though some don’t understand it, those windmills of mystery. I sing with all the planet and its hills of histories.”

The Magnificat Nicola Porpora

IV. Fecit Potentiam (1686–1768) ed. Kristina Caswell-MacMullen (b. 1983)

Sarita Olson-Gustely, conductor

Fecit potentiam in brachio suo, dispersit superbos mente cordis sui.

Deposuit potentes de sede, ex exaltavit humiles.

Esurientes implevit bonis et divites dimisit in anes.

Suscepit Israel puerum suum recordatus misericordiae suae.

Sicut locutus est ad Patres nostros, Abraham et semini eius in saecula.

He has shown strength with His arm, Scattering the proud of heart. He has displaced the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things, And sent the rich away empty.

He rescued Israel his servant, in remembrance of His mercy, He spoke to our ancestors, to Abraham and his descendants forever.
