This incredible cohort of social work scholars are eager to contribute their research, scholarship, pedagogical and leadership skills to your institution or organization. Each graduate provides background on their research interests, along with biographical and curriculum vita information. csw.fsu.edu/person/jessica-bagneris Jessica Bagneris is a fourth-year doctoral candidate at Florida State University (FSU) College of Social Work. She earned her Master of Social Work degree at Tulane University with a certification in Child and Family Practice, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from Baylor University.

Jessica values interdisciplinary research and conducts research within the Center for Population Sciences and Health Equity and the Center for Technology Intervention and Assessment in Schools at FSU, as well as the Interaction and Media Sciences Lab at the University of Las Vegas. Overall, her research focuses on understanding, intervening upon, and improving on biopsychosocial outcomes of underserved communities of color and low socioeconomic status, among whom are at higher risk for experiencing trauma. Longterm, she plans to develop, implement, and disseminate interventions to build resiliency among these communities. For her dissertation, she has developed and implemented the first intervention within an intervention series aimed at improving preservice teachers’ efficacy in sociocultural social emotional learning. This component of the intervention series focuses on increasing preservice teachers’ understanding regarding the influence and importance of sociocultural context and social emotional learning within educational environments. Research Interests: ▶ Child welfare, foster parent retention, and foster care ▶ Child maltreatment ▶ Youth trauma and victimization

Taylor Dowdy-Hazlett’s research interests include child welfare, foster care, and intervention design and implementation focused on the treatment of trauma exposed youth. Funded by the Florida Institute for Child Welfare Dissertation Fellowship, her dissertation explores latent profiles among foster parents and their relation to foster child placement disruption and foster parent turnover. This study analyzes primary data collected across three states on inter- and intra-personal factors associated with placement disruption and turnover among foster parents. Findings from this dissertation study serve a larger research agenda focusing on informing intervention design and implementation to increase stability of care for foster youth. As a doctoral candidate, Taylor serves as project manager on two research studies. The first is exploring the feasibility and efficacy of an intervention aimed at reducing trauma symptomology in foster youth. The second includes the pilot and ongoing development of an assessment of quality standards for Florida’s Department of Children and Families’ licensing residential programs

Research Interests: ▶ Intersectionality of Disability, Gender, Race, and Class ▶ Policy and Program Evaluation and Reform ▶ Elimination of Disparities in Services and Resources

Margaret Holland’s research and practice focus on eliminating disparities in services and resources through policy and program evaluation and reform. In her role as project manager for the Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care Program, she gained experience in project planning and management, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, supervision of graduate and undergraduate research assistants, and technical report writing and submission. This evaluation was used to redress programs with disparities by disability type and severity, gender, race-ethnicity, and geographic location. Her dissertation applies an intersectional framework to evaluate the long-term impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act on the employment outcomes of people by their disability, gender, and race. The findings carry implications for policy reform to end employment disparities for all people with disabilities. In addition to her research, Margaret has taught or assisted in teaching multiple undergraduate- and graduate-level practice and policy courses online and in-person. She has also firstauthored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in well-respected journals and presented research findings at several national conferences.

Lauren H. K. Stanley, MS, LCSW lhstanley@fsu.edu ACCESS CURRICULUM VITAE AT:

Research Interests: ▶ The impact of trauma on learning outcomes in children. ▶ The impact of trauma on lifespan recovery experiences. ▶ Supervision experiences of early social work professionals.

Lauren Stanley is a licensed clinical social worker and a Florida qualified supervisor with more than fifteen years of clinical experience with children, families, and non-profit management. She has an eclectic education beyond her Master of Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago. She holds two degrees from Florida State University including a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology along with a master’s degree in Child Development from the Erikson Institute. She has worked in community mental health, schools, Head Start, and was the clinical director of a community mental health agency prior to pursuing her doctorate. During her doctorate education, she worked on child welfare qualitative research teams and with the Quantitative Methods and Innovation (QMI) Team at the Florida Center for Reading Research. She currently works with the College of Medicine at Florida State University to assess community needs for health services for individuals in recovery and who have experienced past trauma. Lauren’s dissertation examines early childhood trauma measurement and the associations with learning outcomes to inform practice and policy related to screening and intervention within school settings.
