201 1 Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) Highlights from Freshman Survey Results (FSU) participates in an annual longitudinal study of incoming freshmen administered by Florida State University the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. The Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) collects self-reported information (biographic, demographic, educational, financial, opinions, etc.) from freshman students during orientation. Information is also collected from freshmen in public universities and colleges across the country. FSU has been participating in the CIRP since 1978. The Expected Graduation Rates are generated based on the characteristics of the 2011 first-time, full-time CIRP respondents to predict college degree attainment in four, five, or six years. Significant predictors used in the regress models include student and parental background characteristics, academic characteristics, students’ finances, high school activities, institutional characteristics, and more.
