Florida State University espouses the value vires, signifying strength—moral, physical, and intellectual. Thus, health and wellness are central to the Student Affairs mission, and research suggests that purposeful activity during college enhances good health habits later in life (Pascarella & Terenzini, 2005).
Academic Impediments The Healthy Campus 2020 committee comprised of faculty, staff, and students from across campus uses data from the American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment to target programming.
