Due to the increasing interest generated by the social media in the business world, our objectives go beyond the initial experimental phase that the networking has had so far. Fte maximal wants to be a leading example of success today and in the years to come. The staff of Fte maximal perceives our presence in this kind of media as a way of projecting our brand offering more knowledge and visibility, and also as a quick and efficient platform for the interaction with our clients, collaborators and providers. Our efforts are focused on making our entailments steadier and more consolidated every day, and we want that people who are part of our “network” to become an active part of our organization too, creating a relationship between the “person” and “company”. Product HyDra 35 and 45 series Fte maximal has launched the new HyDra antennas series for UHF achieving a great success; it means a big evolution compared to the EVO series and there are big advantages.

The Hydra series have a new and exclusive design patented by Fte maximal that allows a reduction of up to 25% of the volume of the package compared to the EVO series.

In addition, we have also improved the position of the antenna on the mast. Now it is made through a totally new and reinforced, butterfly clamp, which increase the resistance to adverse weather conditions during the course of time.

This modification consists of of the possibility of turning the base 90º and this way it can be placed in line with the elements of the antenna. This means a reduction and a better optimization of the storage space and the transport of the antennas.

There are two available models of these series: Hydra 35 and Hydra 45 The Hydra 35 can be delivered singly or in a master box of 12 , however, the Hydra 45 can be delivered singly or in a master box of 6. The packaging for a single antenna comprises two separate boxes, one of them for the reflector.

Technical Features of HyDra Series

Another aspect that we have been working on has been the need to make the assembly easier for the installer. In order to do so, we have designed a “click” assembly system, where the installer only has to fit the different pieces of the antenna without needing any tool. This improvement also enables the assembly to be done only in 5 easy steps, taking only a few seconds.

Product mediaMAX MINI S2CT HD and mediaMAX MINI S2T HD Fte maximal presents its new range of field strength meters comprising two new models: mediaMAX MINI S2CT HD and mediaMAX MINI S2T HD. These new devices have been entirely developed by Fte maximal in its European facilities, and they are the answer to the measurement needs that some countries have, countries where the High Definition signals are a reality in DVB-T, in DVB-S or in cable networks. The mediaMAX MINI S2T HD allows us to measure and visualize DVB-T and DVB-S / S2 signals, both in MPEG-2 (SD) and MPEG-4 (H.264). The model mediaMAX MINI S2CT HD, incorporates also the possibility of measuring DVB-C signals. In Fte maximal we have concentrated on retaining the same mechanical features and appearance as the other models in the MINI series. This enables the installer to have a complete tool for the analysis of any type of measurement, in a compact device of only 1.8 Kg. Keeping to our philosophy of field strength meter updates, it is worth mentioning that this mechanical compatibility allows our clients to update from any previous model from the MINI series to this new device, for only the difference in the price list. These devices have many new features in terms of software,

but perhaps their most noteworthy aspect is the new 6” screen with high resolution and contrast, especially selected for working outside. It gets automatically set up thanks to an external sensor, offering the best visibility always. Now we are able not only to measure HD signals, but to visualize them too. Regarding the external aspect we have added new connectivity such as HDMI cable that allows the extraction of the video signal in HD for its reproduction in any external device, as well as an RJ45 interface for future applications. These new models retain the same valuable features of the rest of the range, which are already very successful in the market, such as the simple and intuitive design of the menus that make the usage of the product easier. Their connectivity with the EVOSOFT, a PC program developed by Fte maximal for the import of measurements and the automatic creation of reports, as well as the MAP function that allows us not only to measure our headends outputs but to program them too. (more information in page 5 and 6 of Fte News 2). This is the perfect device that covers the present and future needs of any installer.

Transmodulators, Fransat benchmarked Our range of transmodulators TSF 310 CI (DVB-S/S2 to DVB-T with CI) is certified by the Fransat operator, one of the most important operators in France and Europe due to its high number of users its reputation and above all its offer of TV channels that are handled via satellite, amongst them we can find the French TNT. This certificate is a clear recognition of the quality and professionalism of our products. In order to provide the best solutions to our clients and to give response to the different marketing options that Fransat offers in TV channels, we have created 4 different kits to be sold in French territory depending on the operator: • FRANSAT PRO Premium (code 2003574): For the broadcasting of the 19 channels of the French TNT • FRANSAT PRO Régional (code 2003575): For the broadcasting of the 19 channels of the French TNT plus three regional channels. • FRANSAT PRO HD (code 2003576): For the broadcasting of the 19 channels of the French TNT, 4 HD channels and local channels.

• FRANSAT PRO Ultimate (code 2003577) For the broadcasting of the 19 channels of the French TNT, 3 regional channels, 4 HD channels and local channels. These kits are delivered already assembled and with the corresponding CAMs and subscriber’s card set up. The Fransat transmodulator is the first model that carries the new technology applied by Fte maximal in all the TSF 310 CI’s from 2012 on. This new technology facilitates having two consecutive output MUX’s as well as two CI’s enabled at the same time with only an input tuner, thus maximizing the number of decoded services by the module.


Fte Solutions Fte solution to the digital dividend regulation (Spanish Market) On March 26th 2010 the Royal Decree 365/2010 (Real Decreto 365/2010) was approved. It defines out the procedure to follow in order to create a restructuring of the frequencies usage in the band from 470 to 862 MHz. This modification is also known as digital dividend. More precisely, the digital dividend is based on the process in which the frequency band 790-862 MHz (channels from CH61 to CH69) will cease being used for the transmission of terrestrial digital TV services and will be transferred to the mobile network operators. This spectrum restructuring is to be carried out before January 1st 2015 , that is between 2012 and 2014. Fte maximal is fully prepared and has had the perfect solution for the digital dividend for a long time. Included in the comprehensive catalogue, since 2003 we have been working with amplifiers that are completely configurable through the usage of insertable filters (unique solution in the market). In the section dedicated to the DTH and CATV Installations, the highlighted products were the complete range of Multiswitches that the company owns.

Fte maximal attended the Satkrak 2011, www.satkrak.com, which was held from October 13th to 15th 2011 in Krakow (Poland). It has been the first time that the company takes part in this local fair for the Polish market, along with the new exclusive distributor of our brand in the country: SATMANIA, www.satmania.pl, who designed a stand divided in two different parts: professional product and products addressed to DTH and CATV installations In the section designated to the Professional Product, we presented as the most interesting products the new headends DVB 300 T HD (DVB-T to PAL for MPEG-4 HD signals with integrated modulator DSB from C21 to C69), an exclusive product that allows upgrading the headend installations for the markets of High Definition DVB-T signals. Complementing the range of PAL output headends, we also showed the DVD 310 S CI headends (DVB-S to PAL with integrated whole-band VSB modulator and Common Interface) and the MTW 310 modulators (twin A/V input to PAL, with whole-band VSB modulation). It allows managing, controlling and also the maintenance of the headends remotely through the internet, as well as the creation of alarms in consequence of events that can reach the client through a SMS and/or e-mail. Through this information, Fte maximal wants to open the doors to new and more efficient Communication channels between the different Departments and our clients. Nowadays, being able to have the necessary information available in a fast and efficient way is a must. On many occasions, in order to obtain this information we need to go through a lot of people who are needlessly involved, which increases the possibilities of making mistakes as well as the time needed for getting the information. Therefore, with the aim of improving our communication we start a new departmental external visibility process of Fte maximal. The communication goes usually through our commercial agents or the area managers, who always have played the role of mediators between the clients and the different internal departments. In the process we are starting now what we want is to address the different requests and questions directly towards the responsible department. In order to make it easier for everybody, these communications will be made via e-mail, keeping always the commercial agent or area manager in CC .

Who is who MIQUEL GARCÍA BUIGUES Speaking from experience

Miquel has been working in Fte maximal for more than 26 years and he is the person with more seniority in the company at the moment. • Please tell us about your career in the company.

It was 1985 and I was working in a shop where electronic components were sold. One of our usual providers was MUNDIANTENA. The commercial agent that used to visit us was Carlos Domingo. One day he called me and suggested I work in his company, which at that time was formed by himself, his sister, his brother in law and a couple or commercial agents. It was obviously a family-run business, but with a huge enthusiasm for the future to come that Carlos managed to transmit to me. In the beginning for the first couple of years, I was in charge of the shop. We were getting to achieve bigger market shares and that made us move to different facilities. Our next move brought us to new premises next to the Nou Camp. At that time we had a shop where we provided all the necessary material for antennas installations and door phones, with a personal and professional customer service that made us gain new clients. The private TV channels arrived. At the same time, BCN DISTRIBUCIONES was born. A couple of years later and due to the continuous growth of BCN DISTRIBUCIONES, our colleagues moved to another premises in Barberà del Vallès. MUNDIANTENA remained in Barcelona for 3 years more. The staff that belonged to MUNDIANTENA, we decided to close the

shop and to move to Barberà del Vallès. At the time I was assigned to be the commercial agent for Barcelona and its province, where I stayed for 5 years approximately. Later I became the Responsible of the area of Catalonia and in 2004 I was in charge of the National Commercial Management. • Let us know the most significant improvements and developments according to your experience in Fte maximal.

Let us know what you do on your daily basis.

I spend the beginning of the day giving responses to the requests of the different people that belong to the inner commercial team and the e-mails. After that, I go on with the personal attention to the direct clients I am responsible of, as well as to the external commercial agents that belong to my areas. Later I prepare the commercial visits.

Usually I have a two-three days trip every two weeks in order to make visits for commercial support. Then I make the study and approach of new commercial offers. I spend the last part of the day checking the delivery notes of the goods we have sent. • Define the company where you work in 3 words..

Professional, Incessant and Proactive • Getting closer to a more personal space… Are you reading any book at the moment? Which books would you recommend us and why?

To be honest I am not a regular reader, I rather spend my limited free time doing sport or simply going out with friends. The last book that gripped me and that I recommend from here is “La carta esférica” written by Arturo Pérez Reverte. It is the mixture of thriller, adventures and the discovery of a very valuable treasure under the sea. I suppose that since the story takes place in the village where I usually spend my summer vacations (Cabo de Palos) it was easier for me to get gripped.

The installation Broadcast installation in Gabon Our Broadcast Department of Fte maximal France is making the installation of a broadcasting system in DVB-T in Gabon for the company SHELL, whose business is oil exploration. The system is based on the satellite reception of 12 services, with an IP reception headend using the modules IPS310CI. The input services are selected from the satellites NSS7 and EUTELSAT W4, which are received encrypted with Irderto and Mediaguard CAS, being decrypted with CAMs that are inserted in the IPS310CI modules. These modules filter, decrypt and transmit the service through an IP to a PMS multiplexer. The PMX allows combining the 12 input services in two DVB-T multiplex that are transmitted through IP to two DVB-T Broadcast modulators These two multiplex are filtered and mixed in order to being transmitted in UHF with a power of 2Wrms per channel towards an existing radiant system. All the system has been installed in a 42U rack and the IP interconnexions have been centralized in a Switch SWI2410 with 24 ethrenet gigabit ports. The installation of the whole system in Fte maximal France facilities as well as the fine-tuning and connection to the radiant system in Gabon are included in the service. The Broadcast department of Fte maximal France, situated in the centre of the French Alps, has been providing and installing Broadcast material for more than 30 years. A lot of installations have been made around Europe, Asia and Africa in the most extreme environments, as for instance the winter weather conditions in the top of the alpine mountains or the hot weather in Africa.
