Winding Down

As we get closer to our last couple events, I sometimes wonder where the time has gone. It’s seems like just last month our season was just getting started and everyone was excited to get out to the first event. Whether it was the opening round of the Enduro season or the first Hare Scramble, everyone was ready to rumble with new gear, bikes and new rigs. Many new families experienced their first encounter with FTR and have become part of one of the biggest families in off road sports. While I am always reminded on how very fortunate all of us are to have such a well organized, strong and healthy organization, this could not be maintained without the dedication of our clubs, officials and volunteers. So much time goes into discussing, planning and making decisions for the betterment of FTR that it is almost like a second job; in fact it is a second job only there’s no golden parachute.

Failure leads to success as growing pains do arise, but the commitment FTR has to being the best and/or delivering the best is second to none. I mention all of this as FTR has accepted another “Organizer of the Year Award” from the AMA. This is something we can all be proud of and the fact that being the largest amateur off road organization the AMA has speaks volumes from our members, clubs and all that make the wheels turn. As we gather in the pastures, keep in mind FTR is your organization and it is only as good as you make it, being respectful, following established pit rules and just doing the right thing will make everyone’s job a little less stressful and will create an atmosphere for an enjoyable weekend.

Speaking of enjoyable weekends, our banquet is just around the corner and things are already in the works. Our FTR benefit race will help enhance our banquet, scholarship and a lot of extras this year. We are bringing back the vendor area this year with a full house of committed vendors bringing new and current products along with some deals to help you get the edge on the upcoming season. The rooms are going fast and the tickets will go even faster this year so don’t procrastinate.

I Hope everyone has had a super great time this year and hope to see everyone at the benefit race.

Thanks for listening,

Randy Faul
