The season is winding up with our final race on the weekend of April 30 – May 1. All of us are looking forward to summer with beach trips, vacations and of course riding!

I ask you to consider a little quiet time as well. Our bodies and spirits need to reflect, recharge and restore.

In Isaiah 40:27-31, the people were complaining that God didn’t care about them anymore. “Why would you ever complain… or, whine, …saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

I know some riders, especially those closer to my age, that would be thrilled not get tired or lag behind! Remember, when you’re out on the course, in the heat of it, God is right there with you, encouraging, lifting you up, leading the way. All you have to do is seek Him.

During your time of reflection this summer, consider what God wants for you. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Finally, the promise of renewing and restoration comes directly through a personal relationship with Jesus. 1 Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

So, take some time off this summer. Rest, reflect, renew and let God restore!!!
