The race at Bartow on September 26th and 27th was amazing! Over 1000 entrees and all were ready to hit the dirt. It was so good to see friends, both old and new. It was awesome just to watch as riders and families celebrated being back together again; a true reunion!
Jesus loves reunions and reconciliations. In 1 Corinthians 1:10, the Apostle Paul wrote, “ “I appeal to (ask of) you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions.. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” I witnessed rider after rider, in all the classes, coming across the finish line. I did not see one bad attitude or angry face. We, as a family, were all glad to be back together doing what we love!
We came together after what seemed like a never ending nightmare, COVID-19. Families were happy to be out with other families. Kids were playing together and just being kids! The parents were no longer stressed about being trapped in their own homes. In Malachi 4:6 it says that “He (God) will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” You could see the smiles on the faces of the kids and the relief on the faces of the moms and dads.
I walked the pits on Friday and Saturday nights. Friends were gathered around the campfires or the grills just enjoying their time together. God wants us to be together. We are directed to “not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encourage one another”.(Hebrews 10:25). In fact, God goes one step further asking us to “encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Jesus loves reunions. He wants everyone of us back in His saving grace and loving arms. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved”(Acts 16:31). Confess your sins and turn your life over to Him. It is a simple decision that will last an eternity!
Betty and I continue to pray for all of our FTR family. We will see you at the next race!!
Blessings on and off the road,
Jim and Betty Edleston CMA
