Óscar Horta ist ein antispeziesistischer Aktivist aus Spanien und arbeitet gegenwärtig als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der philosophischen Fakultät der Rutgers Universität in New Jersey (USA). Davor war er Professor für Moralphilosophie an der Universität von Santiago de Compostela (Spanien). Außerdem war er Vorstand und Pressesprecher für Organisationen wie Rights for Animals und Alternativa para la Liberación Animal .
