NOC Chamber Visits Sacramento
North Orange County Chamber (NOCC) joined California Chamber of Commerce and local chamber of commerce leaders from throughout the state in May for a Capitol Summit and Sacramento Host Breakfast. Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk Silva (pictured center below) was among the legislators visited by chamber members including (left to right) Michael Williams, Williams Insurance Brokers; Marty Burbank, OC Elder Law; Theresa Harvey, NOCC; Kara Miles, W Power; Christine Mishreki, Rowntree Gardens; and Juan Gonzales, SoCal Gas.

The Capitol Summit featured political insiders and CalChamber policy advocates who addressed election year politics and state policy issues. In addition to CalChamber President Alan Zaremberg, speakers included “Capitol Scoop: Today’s Political and Policy Issues” with Andrew Acosta of Acosta Consulting and Karen Hanretty, a public affairs consultant. Other highlights included a session on “Election Year Voter Attitudes” presented by PSB Research’s Robert Green and Adam Rosenblatt.
The NOCC delegation also joined business, civic and legislative leaders for the 93rd annual Sacramento Host Breakfast. The event featured remarks from CalChamber Board Chair Terry MacRae and Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.
Among his comments, Governor Brown (pictured above) highlighted California’s economic growth and the need to continue persevering as the state meets new challenges.
Rounding out the breakfast program, MacRae, CEO, president and founder of Hornblower Cruises & Events, discussed the importance of California tourism industry to the state’s economy as well as the challenges and rewards of growing a business in the state.
