s mentioned, a few articles ago, our Sales Team and Service Technicians combined their creative thoughts and came up with some amazing one-off custom builds that we put together for the St. Louis Auto Show / Bike Show. If you weren’t able to make it out to the show to check these bikes out, you have got to come by Doc’s Harley-Davidson and check these things out in person! Do you like the feel of a touring bike but want a performance look? Big Red could be the bike for you. This Road Glide Special is the bike that won the over-all vote for the favorite build. One thing that sticks out on this bike right away is the awesome 14” Hoopteze. These bars allowed us to get a look and feel comparable to a T-bar without the need to relocate the instruments. These bars also allow you to view the infotainment system without any interruption. We also installed some adjustable PSR levers in black. Allowing you to change the position of your levers on the fly and add to that custom look. Of course, to add to the performance look we added a custom red LS stitched Saddlemen seat. We love this Billiard Red color so much we wanted more of it. The color-matched Road Glide Fairing Spoiler was the perfect addition to accomplish that goal. The required chopped engine guard adds to the performance look even more. If you like gold you’re going to love the Gold Digger. This Billiard Burgundy Road King Special really set itself apart at the Auto show; getting the most votes there. You’ll definitely be turning some heads and winning some shows with this bike. If you can’t tell already, we’re calling this bike the Gold Digger because of all the gold power coating we had done to the bike. The bars are 14” Outlaw’z that we had powder coated, of course. These Ape Hanger style handlebars give you a nice custom addition with comfort as well. We modified the stock levers to make them a little bit shorter. The Saddlemen Renegade LS Solo Seat really makes this bike’s stripped-down bagger look stand out. Did I mention we put a custom sound system on this beast as well? There’s so much more to this bike, but the finishing touch is the rose gold headlight. You’re going to have to see this Sport Glide, dubbed the Matrix, in person to really appreciate what we did. Huge shout out to Jason at Sprengel’s Innovative Kustoms for knocking this paint job out of the park! You may be asking yourself why this bike looks so different from a Sport Glide. We put a Russ Wernimont Design FXR Fairing on this beautiful bike and had Jason match the paint. Jason did such an amazing job matching this paint that you can’t tell the paint isn’t factory. This is a testament to just how skilled Jason is. While we were at it we figured the saddlebags needed some color as well so we had Jason paint them. You’ll be able to ride this baby down the road CONTINUE ON PAGE 5

Well gang, we are about a month away from everything starting to get back into full swing for the Biking events and the biking season. Starting April 1st, we will be back rocking the house for our "Historic Route 66 Bike Night" at Bobby's Place in Valley Park. This will be our weekly Bike Night event every Weds evening, weather permitting and will run until the end of October. We are asking for your input for any reasonable ideas that you would like to see us do this year at Bike Night. If there is something you would like to see us do for example: we have had strong men/women contests and Axe Throwing to name a couple. What do you think could add fun to the weekly Bike Night? We will post the top 3 ideas on our Facebook on April 1st and the top 3 ideas will win a gift card to Bobby's Place. Email your ideas to publisher@fullthrottlemagazine.com. Let's see who can add some fun ideas to Bike Night. As always, I want to mention that the dates for the Lake of the Ozark Bikefest for 2020 is Wednesday, September 16th through Sunday September 20th. There are many places offering special rates for early room bookings so I would get on the phone or get online and make your reservations early to get the best rates. Bikefest 2019 had a huge turnout and we are forecasting an even bigger crowd for 2020. The lake offers so many great rides, fun bars and restaurants and lots of things to see and do. If you've never been to Bikefest your missing Missouri's largest Motorcycle event and you better get on it this year. Also, the lake is great place to visit all year long for fun and relaxation so you don't have to wait for Bikefest, make the trip soon. I guarantee you'll be glad you did. This years Passport Ride will be giving away a White 2019 Harley Road King Police bike. The Passport ride is presented by Full Throttle Magazine and for $20.00 and some great riding, gives you the chance to win this awesome new Harley Road King. Passport books will go on sale starting Weds September 16th at 24 locations around the lake. Be sure to pick up your Passport, take the ride and possibly win this bike. Drawing will be held at Lake Ozark Harley on Sunday September 20th. Time to be announced soon. As always my friends ride safe and we will see you on the road with Full Throttle Magazine. Bob

while listening to your favorite tunes as well with the additional sound system we put into the RWD fairing. Black Betty took the cake on Instagram, winning the favorite vote there. This Iron 883 was modified with a clip-on handlebar kit from Harley-Davidson as well as a Cafe Custom Tail Section. This bike looks like it’s straight out of the 70’s, but with a modern twist. There are some pops of gold on the new shocks to add a contrast to the black paint and trim. The solo seat is in a café style, with clean lines that put you right in the bike. Spruce Goose also gives us a taste of nostalgia. This Street Bob had some 4” over Fork tubes put on, completely changing the stance of this bike. The new angle is truly aggressive and has a lean like no other. The S&S Cycle gloss black stealth air cleaner really adds to the nostalgic look of the bike. The 1 ¼ Buckhorn handlebars feel and look amazing. The tank badge was removed to add to the sleek and lowkey design. Over all, the bike is clean and minimal in style with classic additions that are far from understated. Come and see these beautiful bikes in person to learn more about what we have done to them. Maybe take one for a test ride and see if one of these custom builds is for you. If you like some of the work we have done but would like it on your bike or a different model, we are always up for a custom build! Stop into the shop at 930 S Kirkwood Rd., 63122 or give us a call at 314.965.0166!

CRACK UP’S A man walks into a police station and announces, “My wife’s gone missing.” The police officer says, “OK sir, we’ll help you. Since when has your wife been missing?” The man replies, “Since about a month ago.” The police officer is shocked, “What? A month?! The doctor turns to him and asks, “Sweet Jesus, how much further do you want to see?!” _________________________ News reporters visit a hen about a shockingly huge egg she laid recently. “This is amazing,” they tell the hen, “a two pound egg, that’s unheard of! CBD "The Bes

o you suffer from arthritis or body pain? Been having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep? Have you not been riding as much because you back hurts or have other body pains? Would you be interested if I told you there was a safe, non-addictive, organic alternative to help with pain management, anxiety, sleep, depression and more? That alternative I am talking about is cannabidiol, or as most call it, CBD. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested daily and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “Phyto cannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile. CBD is an oil found in the cannabis sativa plant. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce a psychoactive result that gets you “high”. My friend Mike, owner of The Silver Tuna CBD shop is an expert on all things CBD. I know, I know your probably thinking silver "The Best of tuna, what’s that. The name came from the classic movie Home Alone. Harry and Marv were searching for houses to break into and found The Best" the right one. Harry said, “that’s it Marv, that’s the silver tuna. That has the best of the best in it!” Personal experiences with anxiety and arthritis is what motivated Mike to try CBD after a friend told him about it and all its benefits. The results were fantastic! It was really helping to relieve his pain and calming his anxiety. Plus, the fact that its organic, nonaddictive and chemical free was so much better than the prescription medications Mike had been trying for years with little to no relief. The relief you can get from pain medications last a very short time and are very addictive and dangerous. Mike was overjoyed finding something organic and natural that was working so well.

A short time after Mike started using CBD he kept thinking, why don’t more people know Page 20

st of The Best"

Written By Andrew Blanton

about CBD and all the benefits of taking it? Something had to be done! He was determined to spread the word and help as many people as he could by educating them on CBD and all the different benefits it has. That is when The Silver Tuna CBD shop came to mind. First, lots of research and testing had to be done to find the highest quality products on the market and make sure they had been thoroughly tested. A lot of places may have CBD for sale, gas station etc, but a large majority are not quality products and have not been tested. The Silver Tuna CBD shop uses two of the best hemp farmers in Oregon and Colorado. The hemp is grown in nutrient dense soil that is 100% chemical and pesticide free. These top of the line growing conditions allow them to produce the highest quality products available. The hemp is taken from the farm to a certified laboratory to be extracted and made into the products you receive. There are several different ways to use CBD and with different potencies. One of the more popular forms is the tincture oil. This oil comes in little bottles that have a dropper inside that helps you measure the amount you are consuming. You can take this oil sublingually (a drop under your tongue) or it can be added to food or drinks. There are also topical products like creams, gels or salve. The topical products can be applied to specific areas of your body for sore muscles or body aches. The topical creams are great to use after a ride if your body is sore. They immediately soak into your pores and provide quick relief. CBD has really gained popularity the past couple years with more and more people finding out for themselves the great benefits. The Silver Tuna CBD shop carries the highest quality products on the market. They have been committed from the beginning to helping people better their lives. They will answer any and all questions you may have about their products they carry or general questions about CBD itself. For example, how much do I need to take? What milligram do I need to get? How often do you take it? Don’t hesitate to ask. You can go to their website, WWW. THESILVERTUNACBD.COM to see what CBD products they carry and to ask any questions you may have. You can buy from them with confidence knowing you are receiving the highest quality, cleanest products on the market today!

fs

How's it going Full Throttle readers? Zach White here to give you

the latest and greatest info from St. Charles Harley-Davidson. This year has started off cold with a couple nice Sunday's in the mix. I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some riding. With the Big St. Charles building back in operation, we have been getting back to the flow of things in the Harley building. If you have been in recently you may have seen a new face at the front counter of Service. That's our new Harley-Davidson Service manager, Steve, so come in and welcome him. Steve previously worked as a technician for us before he moved. We are happy to have him back and leading our service department. Thank you to all that came by and said hello at the annual STL Auto & Motorcycle Show. It was great seeing so many familiar faces, as well as some that I haven't seen for a few years. The brand new LiveWire got a lot of attention over the weekend. If you didn't get to come by and get educated on it, then come into the dealership and check it out. This month we are gearing up for Spring and the riding season. The only event we have at the dealership this month is our "Stop the Bleed" class the first Saturday (March 7th). Make sure to call Sandy and get registered for this life saving FREE class. This month I want to chat about the two Aftermarket Dealer Expos I got to attend. I went down to Texas at the end of January for the Tucker show, and then headed to Kentucky mid-February for the Annual Drag Specialties Dealer show. These are two of our biggest distributors for some of the top aftermarket companies. They provide the latest product that Harley-Davidson doesn't provide to take your bike to the next level. It's always good to see and touch the newest product, and then bring it back to show you all. Let's start off with the Tucker show. Arlen Ness brought out a new line of covers that are anodized and come in a few different colors. The BMX style Anodized foot boards and pegs feel 1/2 the weight of the OEM style. Another part from Arlen Ness that I really liked are the OEM style mirrors that are 1/3 of the size. These will be great for the Street Glide riders that put on high bars and need to remove the fairing mounted mirrors. The last Ness item that wowed me is in their air cleaner line. You can now get an air cleaner with an oil catch inside. This prevents oil blow by coming down on your cam cover after it soaks through the filter. Come into the store and check them out in person. Another new item that caught my attention was from Burly Brand. A lot of you know about their slammer kits that lower your bike to the max. This gets your feet on the ground, but also make it a rough ride. Well, they came out with the rear Slammer Plus this year. These shocks get you the seat height of their 10.5" shocks, but the travel of a 11.5" shock. It's similar to the progressive 944 shocks for the touring bike. These will be available for most models. The last

sf item that caught my attention was from SP Gadgets. We get a lot of customers coming in wanting a waterproof phone mount. They came out with a universal one that looks good and can easily be removed from the bike. Also newly released from SP Gadgets is a wireless charging block that will allow your waterproof phone case to connect and charge while going down the road. Let's move onto the Drag Specialties show and some of the new product on display. LA Choppers always brings some new items out for release, and this year was no exception. They now have all new Kage Fighters available for your Road Glide. This is the aggressive stance you are looking for that uses the stock riser and still allows for visibility to the gauges. These are the ticket for bars on your performance bagger! Talking about performance, you might think of engine, but I also look at suspension. Legend Suspension was showing off their all new Arc rear suspension. These give you all the adjustments needed to fine tune your ride to whatever style suits you. If you're looking for something to go along with your Kage Fighters bars, new grips from ODI are the perfect choice. These are true motocross grips and give you the grip needed to rip the corner and give it full throttle in the straight away. Last I had to stop by the Mustang booth and see whats new in the seat world. They have been stepping it up with the different inlays and stitching available. We have a great selection of seats, and recently got in a couple different inlay and stitched seats, so come check them out. You can also come demo one of the many different seats available at the shop. My last stop was by the Custom Dynamics booth to check out whats new in the lighting world. For aftermarket LED's, this company is the way to go, and they are the only one with a lifetime warranty. Once again, they came out with a lot of new ways to light up the road and your Motorcycle. Some of the things that stood out to me were the sequential lights available for the front and rear of your bike. They also have an adaptive LED headlight with a lifetime warranty! Come and check out all the new aftermarket product arriving daily. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in the shop, and at the bike nights that are coming soon. Thanks again for taking the time to read this. When you come to St. Charles Harley-Davidson, be sure to ask for me, Zach White. “The Corvette is synonymous with freedom, adventure and considered America’s

sports car since being introduced in 1953”, as written by Automotive News. During the mid sixties, the “vette” as it is commonly known by, brought that feeling of excitement and acceleration just at the mention of its name. Inspired by a Mako shark caught by GM Chief Design Engineer Bill Mitchell, the second generation Corvette introduced the “Sting Ray” name plate. The C2 is one of the sexiest body designs to date. With the hide away headlights, independent rear suspension and telescopic steering wheel, it is easy to see yourself cruising the countryside, hugging the curves of the road like never before. Bit by the Corvette bug, Jack Metcalfe from Jerseyville, IL saw this vette for sale in town and had to have it, as a lot of us do. This was July of 1982 and they were still pricey, but attainable. Being a young man with a vette was the ultimate man cave conversation. So a deal was struck and he took possession. The car was in pretty good condition to start with, so just keeping up with the usual maintenance and fuel in the tank was all that it needed to cruise the streets of Jersyville. As time and life go by, so do some of our priorities. Family and jobs tend to move to the forefront and our cars are moved to the back burner, but not forgotten. Jack enjoyed the car as his daily driver, but it was beginning to show its age. Move forward to 2005, Jack and his wife Leslie set out to update the exterior of the car. They began taking it all apart to prepare for paint, but as it always seems to go, let’s do the engine bay, too. That was it for now. The vette was painted Rally Red along with the auxiliary hardtop. After several months of reassembly and detailing, “Ruby” as she is known by, was ready to hit the streets once again. They enjoyed attending local cruises and car shows, doing quite well with Ruby. After a few years of showing at the local level they wanted to go to the next level, Page 30

Corvette Nationals. With this excitement comes many hours of documentation of parts, bag and tag, photo’s and determination. In 2010 this journey begins to restoring Ruby to pristine condition. Removing all exterior pieces, nuts and bolts, the vette was just an empty tub. All of the drive train was removed to get a thorough cleaning and fresh paint. The 327c.i./350 HP engine was taken to Dave Payne in Mt. Vernon, IL for a complete rebuild for many more years of cruising. The 4 speed close ratio transmission and the 3.70 posi unit rear end got new seals and painted for that freshly restored look. The body needed very little work to be a shinny ruby in the bright sunlight, just a fresh coat of Rally Red, then blocked and buffed. Back home, the reassembly process began once again, but this time the attention to detail was of the utmost. All of the chrome was reworked, stripped and replated at St. Louis Chrome Plating of St. Louis, MO. Jack and Leslie sanded and buffed all the stainless steel trim back to a mirror finish. While the exterior was coming along quite well, the interior needed the same attention. Starting off with an Al Knoch complete black interior kit, they got knee deep into the upholstery work. They also got some experience on installing the black convertible top. Virginia Vette of Williamsburg, VA gets credit for the total gauge restoration, including repaint of faces and needles. New bezels and knobs top off the dash Now that the reassembly was coming to a close, it was time to put on the iconic dual side exhaust and the freshly painted Argent Silver 15 x 7 small dish rally wheels wrapped with 7.75 x 15 Coker radial red stripe tires. With many hours of blood, sweat and tears behind them, the meticulous attention to detail throughout the whole car, it was time to see if all of this hard work will pay off. One of the first events Ruby entered, Super Chevy at Memphis, she brought home “Best Corvette”. Not bad, but only the beginning of a great stock restored 1967 Corvette. Ruby has won 22 Grand Champion awards at different National events, along with numerous awards from local shows. Having the persistence to attain one’s goals is always the challenging piece, but reaching the goal is only through perseverance and Ruby has met that goal.
