Oil is the lifeblood of your engine. Oil has multiple purposes for our engines. Not only does it lubricate the moving components of our engines; it also cools down our engines and cleans the byproducts left by combustion. Oil also has to live in a very harsh, hot environment so only the proper products will suffice. Harley-Davidsons complete line of lubricants are formulated specifically to keep your motorcycle running strong, mile after mile. Harley-Davidsons SYN3 full Synthetic Motorcycle Lubricant is definitely a recommended product. It’s developed specifically to provide maximum performance and protection in Harley-Davidsons powertrains. SYN3 offers superior wear protection at higher temperatures. Well, Spring has finally arrived and like all of you, I am so ready. April is the month we all look forward to; the first month of the season and what a season it is shaping up to be. Bikenights are already hitting the schedule and the excitement is all a buzz. First up is Historic Route 66 Bike Night kicking off April 3 and continuing every Wednesday evening at Bobby’s Place in Valley Park through the end of October. This month for the for the two weeks Bobby’s will be offering drink and food specials to kick the season off. On the third Wednesday we will be offering free BBQ while the supply last. The last Wednesday, we will have Bikini Night with the Gorgeous Girls from Bobby’s Place in bikini tops and having a special prize night of giveaway’s. JUST IN…… VALLEY PARK HAS GIVEN BOBBY’S PLACE THE GREEN LIGHT TO MOVE THE BIKENIGHTS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SIDE OF THE PARKING LOT; “THE LARGER SIDE”! WE WILL HAVE MORE ROOM FOR PARKING, GAMES AND TONS OF FUN! St Charles Harley and St Charles Power sports will kick off their Bike Nights On April 4th with the HUGE party they always put on. would like to introduce all our readers and supporters to an awesome new family owned and operated aftermarket parts, apparel, and upholstery motorcycle shop that caters to not only the seasoned rider and mechanic, but also the new rider and everyone in between. It is, Barstool Gypsy, and they are conveniently located on west Main Street in Belleville, IL. Owner’s, Mike and Char have been in the motorcycle industry for a long time, about 30 years combined, and have extensive knowledge in parts, apparel, sales and customer service. They have worked for different large dealerships like Gateway H-D and Doc’s H-D. While working for these Harley dealers, Mike and Char would always have customers and friends asking them about fixing their leather seats on their bikes and saddle bags, fix broken zippers on their jackets and vest’s, and aftermarket parts. They decided to fix this problem. Mike started taking classes on sewing, stitching, and upholstery. He found out he really enjoyed working in that craft and became quite good. It started out as a little work on the side for some extra money. As time went on, he kept getting more and more customers and it got to the point where he couldn’t handle doing all the side work and working a full-time job. He was working seven days a week day and nights. That will wear you out quick. Something had to be done. Mike and Char sat down together and after a long conversation, decided they wanted to open their own shop that would offer all the things that their customers asked them about and at much better prices than the large dealerships. That day was the beginning of Barstool Gypsy. No one said it would be easy and they knew they had a long tough road ahead of them. But they took their time and got it done. They wanted Barstool Gypsy to be perfect when the doors opened. When you walk through the front doors all you can really think is Page 18

ow’s it going Full Throttle readers, Zach White here to give you the latest and greatest info from St. Charles Harley-Davidson. Weather is starting to turn for the better with more sunlight in our evening to allow for some nice sunset rides after a long days work. Make sure to check that tire pressure as the weather warms up. As most of you know already we lost a great friend and family member of St. Charles Harley-Davidson and the St. Louis motorcycle community. Our North Eastern Parts Specialist, Jack Dugas passed away in February while out enjoying a great night of music which was one of his favorite things to do. We are having a “Celebration of Life” for Jack at the Dealership outside on Sunday, April 7th @ 1pm and is open to everyone. The employees are going to take a short ride in his honor before the Celebration. If anyone would like to join we ask that you are at the Dealership around 10am and kickstands up at 11am. This month I want to touch on another Aftermarket Expo I got to attend and bring back some knowledge for you. Custom Dynamics has been providing that for us in the motorcycle industry with there life time warranty LED’s. The all new ProBEAM line is everything you would expect out of lights. When you go down the country roads at night you will know when that deer is coming your way with the LED headlight that will light up the road and both sides of the ditches. Also one of our biggest sellers are the turn signal inserts. The dynamic ringz front turn signals are white running lights going down the road and when you hit the turn signal they turn amber. This gets the attention of on coming cars in both day and night riding. It’s really amazing the amount of light that they put out. Then for the rear turn signal inserts it will give you some extra running and brake lights because they are a red LED’s. Another awesome new light they came out with that I will be installing on my Streetglide soon is the single row rear saddlebag lights. These allow for run/brake/turn and since they are on the saddlebags it gives a wide view of lights to the rear. One thing that the stock Roadking Special, Streetglide and Roadglides are lacking is rear visibility. With these new saddlebag lights you get that and a clean look all at the same time. To finish off that rear end of those bikes, add the tri-bar rear fender light which converts it to run and brake so you won’t have to worry about someone not seeing you as they are coming up quick. The next manufacture, LA Choppers always brings something new to the table each year but I wasn’t expecting much at the NVP show since they just released the all new Prime Apes a few months back. Well much to my surprise as I was walking up to the booth the bars on display caught my eye. Yeah, they looked like your normal Twin Peak bar that they are very famous for but just “Fatter”! For all you wanting that Fat 1.5” diameter bar here it is, the “GRANDE” line of bars. The Grande’s are available in the Tree Hugger, Standard Ape, Twin Peaks and the all new Prime Ape. Come in and check them out in person. You won’t be disappointed with any of LA Choppers bars as they will give you the most natural wrist position. For comfort, performance and all around best handling on two wheels Legend Suspension is the only name you need to know. At the NVP show I was able to see in action what they have out for the all new Softail Family from Harley-Davidson. The Air Ride will get the shortest rider flat foot and also give that performance rider

the clearance to dip real tight into the next corner with the wide range of travel all by the push of a button. Myself and many clients of mine that have invested will agree with me when I say, “Once you put Legend Suspension on your motorcycle you will never go back”! Last I want to touch on a new product available from Arlen Ness. The name is very familiar with the motorcycle industry and one of the longest aftermarket manufactures around. From wheels, air cleaners, foot controls and the list goes on. You know you are getting a top notch product when Arlen Ness’s name is on it. This year the product that really got my attention was the all new wrapped wide fender. The wide tire baggers are the new big thing but took some shaving of the front fork sliders to get that 180mm front tire between it. Well Arlen Ness took that fun part out of it and now is offering a fender that will allow that wide front wheel and tire to go on without shaving the sliders. This will cut down on labor and buying or shaving down your sliders and getting them re chromed or powder coated. I can’t wait to get one in the shop and on a build. We have a busy April for you all to enjoy. April 4th will be the first bike night of the year with the FMX Freestyle Motocross in action. Rentals will be in full swing April 8th so when your friends or family come into town they don’t need to borrow your bike. April 13th is our Pre-Owned Tent Sale with hundreds of great motorcycles ready to hit the open road. o most of you know I am a car builder and have been for many years and to be sure I always have business, I may have on more than one occasion, brought or asked an attractive women to pose by my car. By doing this, It makes people stop to take photos of the cars and then they talk to me about the cars. This seems to be a sure fired way I can pick up more business. If this works it can’t be wrong? Some of you guys might see a beautiful girl driving or standing next to a Bad Ass car and think; “Oh that has to be her boyfriend or husbands car?” I, myself, don’t think that. I just think she is even hotter and want to know more about the car. Okay, maybe the girl too. ;-) Well, that brings us to Heidi and her ’68 Camaro that she has owned for 5 years. Heidi told me that she has the best husband in the world, Rich who bought her this Camaro as a birthday gift in London, England in 2014. They lived about 3 hours from where he bought the car so he had to drive it home and just outside of London the engine blew up. Being very frustrated and neither really knew much about cars at the time Rich told Heidi they were going to take it back. She quickly answered “HELL NO”. we are not!!! Luckily Heidi has a Cousin, Michael T. Brown, who knows a lot and can build a wicked motor. The bad thing is he had to fly to England to do this one. So within 3 weeks it was out and rebuilt using some of the best parts around. It started with a Mark IV 454 bored 60 over, blue printed & balanced, Ferrea valves, solid lifters, Eagle rods, 10.5:1 pistons, Gilmer belt drive system, Page 36

Hooker Super Comp headers, MSD ignition system, a Holley 750 carb and so many more. The power is put to the 3:73 gears in a narrowed 12 bolt rear end using a 4 link and QA-1 coil overs through a Turbo 350 with a B&M 2400 stall Hole Shot convertor and a shift kit with Heidi slapping the Hurst Pro-Matic shifter showing she is in charge. As you can see in one of the photo’s Heidi has learned a lot about cars, she is the one who installed the Global West tubular control arms, Wilwood disc brakes at all 4 corners including the Wilwood master cylinder, QA-1 shocks all around and rewired the complete car. Most everything you see here was done by Heidi, I’m sure she asked Rich and Michael to help from time to time, as we all need extra hands now and again. But, she is very thankful to both and said she couldn’t have done it without them. She is a proud owner and she wants to do as much as possible which also includes keeping Lola very Show worthy, Even though people complain she is not running inner fender wells, she said she looks Bad Ass without them and will not put them back in to make anyone happy. I would have to say she has the look and the stance just right, with the Silver paint, all of the chrome blacked out, the Mickey Thompson 29 X 15-15 and 175 X 65-15 mounted on Billet Specialty -Street Lites wheels, front bumper delete, fiberglass hood and deck lid mounted with Dzus fasteners, rear battery cut-off switch with jumper lugs, racing buckets and a full roll cage. Although, like all cars they are never really done. The next step is to update the interior. But for now Heidi’s plans are to just drive and have as much fun as possible. Which also includes having some guys get upset that their toys aren’t as nice as her LOLA. Photos By Alan Anderson
