Many of you know I have a weakness for a ‘57 Chevy, actually a weakness for all cool cars but, a real soft spot for the ‘57.
The 1957 Chevrolet had so many body options to choose from, including the very popular Bel Air.
Let me give you a quick run down of the very difficult choice Chevy had you make in 1957. You had your Convertible, a Sport Coupe, a Sport Sedan (also known as a 4-door hard top), a 4-door Sedan, a 2-door Sedan, a Townsman 4-door Station Wagon and the Bel Air Nomad Station Wagon. To think, this was just the Bel Air choices and I did not even mention the 210 and the 150 series. There were as many more to choose from; but let’s just focus on what you are seeing here as one of my all time facorites The very rare, yet truly amazing 1957 Bel Air NOMAD.
This beautiful specimen is owned and built by Ron Feldman, a great guy who is willing to share his car and stories with you. When I first met Ron, I was blown away on how nice his 1957 Bel Air Nomad truly was. But when he started telling me his future plans for what he was getting ready to do to his Nomad, I thought he was nuts. He may be nuts but he has the talent to back it up.
Since that time he has refinished the interior, including the dash and the instrument panel. He ran across some difficult challenges to bring it to the OEM stylin including finding

all of the hard to find trim pieces for the fold down rear seat. Which, by the way, is still great for going to the Drive In and backing in to watch the movies from the rear of the car; that still is one of his favorite options.
This past winter he meticulously refurbished the complete engine bay including the engine. The engine is now putting out a whole 300HP. With a TURBO 350 transmission sending the power to the 3:70 gears in the rear pumpkin. That may not be a lot of power but, when you look this cool, you don’t have to fly; you just look like you do with the world recognized rear fins and the hood rockets. I’d say, take your time and look for something he missed. I guarantee, it will be very difficult to find something but if you do, I’m pretty sure Ron knows about it and it is in the works.
To make his Nomad even more enjoyable to drive and to share with all ages who loves his ‘57, he has added the Power 605 steering box, BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires 215/60 R15 in the front and the rear are 235/60 R15 all mounted on later model Rally Wheels.
Ron has owned this Nomad for 3 years and it took him 2 years to do the restoration. he also stated that this car was his first ‘57 Chevy 2 door wagon as he was born in 1957.
Ron admitted he had to send the car off for paint and body work but the guys at Show Me Auto Body did a great job wtih the PPG Matdor Red and the Asia White.
More future plans call for a better exhaust and sway bars. I’m sure they will be top notch to match the rest of his build.
Ron would like to thank his life long friend, Mann. His “Nomad Guru” -Terry Hardy, Tom Smith, Keith Flood and naturally his Mother for all of their unconditional help.

Welcome back Full Throttle readers! Its October now and winter is coming. And with it, winter projects. Lets get right to it and talk about what is new with Harley Davidson audio!
Harley-Davidson’s New Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers
Elevating the Motorcycle Audio Experience
Harley-Davidson has long been synonymous with power, freedom, and the spirit of the open road. Its motorcycles are iconic, representing a heritage of craftsmanship and innovation that has spanned over a century. In recent years, Harley-Davidson has been making waves with their integration of modern technologies, ensuring that their motorcycles not only deliver raw, visceral riding experiences but also offer state-of-the-art comfort and entertainment features. One of the most exciting additions to the Harley lineup is the introduction of the Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers, a high-performance audio upgrade that promises to enhance the rider’s auditory experience.
The Evolution of Motorcycle Audio
Motorcycle audio has come a long way. What started as basic radio systems has evolved into intricate setups featuring powerful amplifiers, advanced equalizers, and high-quality speakers. Harley-Davidson has been at the forefront of these innovations, developing audio systems that cater specifically to the unique needs of motorcycle riders. Riding a Harley-Davidson isn’t just about the roar of the engine; it’s also about enjoying a full sensory experience, where sound plays a key role in setting the mood of the ride.
Harley’s earlier forays into audio, such as the Boom! Audio Stage 2 systems, were already cutting-edge, but with the introduction of Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers, Harley-Davidson has taken motorcycle audio to the next level. These speakers offer riders more power, clarity, and immersive sound, especially at highway speeds where wind and engine noise can typically drown out music.
Key Features of the Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers
1. Powerful Audio Output
The Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers are designed to pack a punch. They come equipped with 250 watts of power per speaker with less distortion and a frequency range that delivers booming bass, crisp mids, and sparkling highs. This means whether you’re cruising down the highway or idling at a stoplight, your music will be loud and clear, with minimal distortion even at high volumes. These speakers provide an ideal solution for those who love listening to music on long rides, ensuring an immersive experience without compromising on audio quality.
2. All-Weather Durability
Designed specifically for the rigors of the road, these saddlebag speakers are weatherproof and resilient against the elements. Harley-Davidson understands that riders don’t always have the luxury of riding in ideal weather conditions. Be it rain, dust, or harsh sun, the Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers are built to withstand it all, ensuring longevity and consistent performance. This weather resistance is a huge plus for riders who traverse a variety of terrains and climates, ensuring that their audio system remains intact regardless of where the road takes them.
3. Seamless Integration with Existing Systems
Harley-Davidson’s Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers are designed for easy integration with the existing Boom! Box infotainment systems found on many touring models. This means that upgrading to these speakers won’t require complex modifications or additional equipment. The plug-and-play design allows for a smooth installation, which is particularly appealing for those who want high-end sound without the hassle of a complicated installation process. The speakers are also compatible with Harley’s amplifiers, allowing riders to boost their audio output further if desired.

4. Custom-Designed for Harley-Davidson Saddlebags of 2024 Street Glide & Road Glide Models
These speakers aren’t just any aftermarket addition—they’re tailor-made to fit seamlessly into Harley-Davidson’s factory saddlebags. This precise fit ensures that the speakers not only look great but also function optimally, without compromising the saddlebag’s storage capacity. The design retains the classic Harley aesthetic, so riders can enjoy premium sound without sacrificing the iconic look of their bikes.
5. Immersive Soundstage
One of the standout features of the Stage 3 speakers is the incredible soundstage they create. Thanks to their placement in the saddlebags, the sound envelops the rider, creating a rich and immersive auditory environment. Unlike traditional front-facing speakers, which direct sound in one direction, these saddlebag speakers allow the sound to surround the rider, offering a more three-dimensional audio experience. Whether it’s your favorite rock anthem or a mellow country tune, the Stage 3 speakers ensure you feel every beat.
The Road Ahead: Enhancing the Harley-Davidson Experience
The launch of the Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers represents more than just an upgrade in audio technology; it’s a testament to Harley-Davidson’s commitment to enhancing the overall riding experience. For Harley enthusiasts, the motorcycle isn’t just a mode of transportation; it’s a way of life, a symbol of freedom, and a personal sanctuary. As such, every aspect of the ride—from the rumble of the engine to the soundtrack accompanying it—matters.
Harley-Davidson has recognized that today’s riders demand more than just the traditional motorcycle experience. They want the power and thrill of a Harley combined with the modern conveniences and luxuries that have become integral to the contemporary rider’s lifestyle. The Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers are part of this vision, catering to riders who want to take their sound system as seriously as their engine upgrades.
Furthermore, the seamless integration of these speakers into the Harley-Davidson ecosystem demonstrates the company’s thoughtful approach to innovation. Rather than introducing audio components that feel tacked on or out of place, Harley ensures that these upgrades blend effortlessly with the overall design and function of their bikes.
Conclusion: A Sound Investment
For Harley-Davidson owners looking to enhance their rides, the Stage 3 Saddlebag Speakers are a compelling option. With their high power output, weather-resistant design, and seamless integration, these speakers offer an impressive blend of performance and practicality. Whether you’re embarking on a cross-country journey or simply enjoying a weekend ride, the Stage 3 speakers promise to make every moment more enjoyable, providing the soundtrack to your adventures.
