FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE… of historic tattoo For this forum, I have assembled a handful about 15 years ago. At the photo’s from a collection I acquired more than a bunch of time, I thought that they were nothing performers and the random photo’s of tattooed people, circus photo’s were taken by a like. I later discovered that these rare a mail order catalog man named Bernard Kobel, who offered catalog, there were in the 40’s through the 60’s. In the Kobel subjects, including hundreds of photos of odd and peculiar Enjoy! s & m, bondage, and sideshow freaks.

Happy New Year! Believe it or not, it’s the start of a New Year and a new month. 2010 came in with some freezing cold temperatures! We’re all ready for the soothing warm days to come around again so that we can get out on the open road. We had the opportunity to head to Florida for the holidays this year, with warmer weather and palm trees for Christmas! Key West never felt better; everyone was out and about on their scoots all the way down A1A. It was an amazing sight to see @ this time of year. Very cool indeed those lucky bastards. Well we’ve been sitting around checking out our event calendar for the year, and we’re very excited about what we see! There are so many upcoming events this year! Too many to list but, twice the amount of last year. Watch the next few issues for a heads up on all these killer events. The krew decided to throw: I guess you could say, “A Badass Rock N Roll show” Be sure to come out Saturday February 13th 2010 to the Way Out Club (2525 S. Jefferson St. Louis MO). The dba for a bike at idle is 92 sounds like a lot but human speech is 58 or 59 dba and the loudest your bike can get at 2000 rpms is 96 unless you have more than two cylinders. Sounds to me like the man’s at it again I mean they have to sit and ponder the thought what can we do to F%$# with these bastards now. Shit we can make a killing on them at least 90 percent of their pipes are illegal and at 50 dollars a pop times maybe a million just in our state that’s some serious cash.
January 2010 Happy New Year Hope everyone is doing ok. Just to touch on last year a bit my father in-law finished up his chemo don’t know any results as I write this so hopefully it worked. And I took a little trip up to Wentzville to the ULTIMATE ART FORM TATTOO SHOP and had my brother Matt IN MEMORY OF TATTOO done turned out awesome as you can see. So if you’re looking to get some work done go on up there ask for BO tell him JAWS sent you and he will take real good care of you. Does the phrase “SAE J2825” mean anything to any of you well the first time I heard it said it didn’t mean nothing to me either in fact I had never heard of it till a guy I work with ask me about it. As he explained it to me I was dumbfounded to have never heard of it you see these letters and numbers “SAE J2825” are going to be some of the worst for some and some of the best for others. This is all new to me but it seems back in 1986 the EPA standard for exhaust pipes was set evidently the manufacturer had to comply with EPA standard. That said the aftermarket pipes were created, and my guess was because bikers wanted their bikes louder and to get better performance out of their bikes, but they didn’t have a true measuring device to measure these but guess what you guessed it they have now so get ready its coming down the pipe no pun intended. You see some folks got together from a few different groups and formed “ SAE J2825” and low and behold it’s here that’s right roadside testing with a meter so possibly by the time you get your bike out of winter storage are even try to get a winter ride in you may get the opportunity

But what the POST DISPATCH didn’t put on the front page was how they F$#@ED employees out of their health care strange isn’t it. I know I’m getting off track sorry but I’m trying to paint a picture of the way things are headed. Getting back on track it hasn’t happened to me because I‘ve been avoiding the area but GRAFTON ILLONOIS has already started their own enforcement based solely on the keen hearing of people that live close by the

St. Louis’ Own Pink Floyd Tribute Band
EL MONSTERO Y LOS MASKED AVENGERS MAKES TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE PAGEANT IN DECEMBER
Celebrating their 11th year, El Monstero has become a holiday tradition for many local fans. El Monstero is comprised of Mark Thomas Quinn (lead vocals/guitar/lap steel guitar), Jimmy Griffin (lead vocals/guitar), Kevin Gagnepain (bass/ vocals), Bryan Greene (electric and acoustic guitar), John Pessoni (drums/vocals), Bill Reiter (keyboard/vocals), Jake Elking (keyboard), Dave Farver (saxophone), Ermine Cannon, Tandra Williams, and Kelly Wild (vocals). All of the musicians are St. Louis natives and most have been in bands that were signed to major labels. El Monstero’s first appearance was a single night, sold out show at Mississippi Nights in 1999. By 2008, the show spanned six nights at The Pageant and has developed a massive loyal fan base. The nearly three hour production focuses on the Gilmore/Waters era of Pink Floyd, featuring songs off of the albums: “Meddle,” “Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Animals,” and “The Wall.” The band utilizes pyrotechnics, lasers, actors, dancers and aerial artists to create a complete visual and audio experience to compliment the depth of the music of Pink Floyd. HARLEY DAVIDSON #1 FAN Kristian is a four year old little boy with a smile that lights up any room and warms every heart he touches. He’s a pre-schooler and loves attending school and has seven awards to show for it! He lives with his grandmother, G-MA, who makes sure he doesn’t miss a day of school. Kristian is very proud of his attendance record. The gift that we call Kristian was born at 33 weeks. At birth, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Early on it was evident that there were going to be quite a few challenges throughout his life. He is non-verbal, doesn’t walk, nor is he able to sit up on his own without the aid of his Kid Kart wheelchair. That doesn’t stop him from having a great day everyday! Although caring for Kristian isn’t an easy charge, his G-Ma does it with unmatched energy and lots of love. Kristian greets everyone he meets with

a big smile and his infectious laugh. His smile softens the hardest of hearts. If you’re having a bad day, Kristian’s smile is an automatic pickme-up...just ask Ms. Donna - Grandmother On October 18th, I had the pleasure of meeting Kristian for the first time. His Grandmother brought him in to shop for more Harley items. The moment I looked into his eyes he touched my heart. Even though Kristian is not able to talk with words, his beautiful eyes and loving smile spoke to me clearly. Kristian always gets excited when he wears his Harley clothes. These Bikes Don’t Suck! This father and sons team has been building choppers for over a combined 50 years. Their philosophy has always been to build ride able bikes, not strictly showpieces. CHICKEN CORN CHILI
Ingredients 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon chili powder salt to taste ground black pepper to taste 1 (11 ounce) can Mexican-style corn 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans Directions 1. Place chicken and salsa in the slow cooker the night before you want to eat this chili. Season with garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook 6 to 8 hours on Low setting. 2. About 3 to 4 hours before you want to eat, shred the chicken with 2 forks. Return the meat to the pot, and continue cooking. 3. Stir the corn and the pinto beans into the slow cooker. Simmer until ready to serve.
HOMEMADE TORTILLA STRIPS -Buy a package of 10-12 corn tortillas. Cut into small pieces or strips. -In large fry pan over medium-high heat, crisp up tortilla strips. Add salt. You may do this with oil or cooking spray. - Pull from fryer & place on a plate that is covered with paper towels, blot dry. -Eat up!

REGIONAL Disorder33 started as a one man band in a spare bedroom in Peoria Heights, IL. Founder, Ryan Noceros wrote songs and recorded all necessary instruments on an old Fostex multitrack recorder. It was 2002. When the songs were put up on Myspace 5 years later, the “band” was asked to play The Creepy Crawl in St. Louis, MO. The latest available date was picked to allow time to form a band. Disorder33 played their first gig on 1/04/2008. To this date D33 has played a steady amount of gigs on many different stages and has been booked with National Touring acts such as, Off With Their Heads, Agent Orange, JuiceHead and Murder Junkies to name a few. D33 remains strong today with a line up consisting of Ryan Noceros (guitar + Vox), Nic Losen (bass + backing vox) and Brad Klatt (drums + backing vox). The music is punk/rock and is described by the band as being “music we would want to listen to.” Disorder33’s main goal is to help build the scene surounding, make as many friends as possible and drink your beer. NATIONAL THE HATED have been a staple in the Delaware punk and hardcore scene for the better part of 2 decades. Formed in New Castle, Delaware in 1993 by Dan Caruso and Ken Morefield, The Hated have always contributed to Hardcore Punk and Oi worldwide, supporting the music and the times. With such classics as “Neurotic”, “Barfight” and “Front Page” and their latest hits “Troubled Oi” and “Drinking for a Living” they truly represent their roots. Sixteen years later, THE HATED is still going strong with no sign of slowing down. FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE… For this forum, I have assembled a handful of historic tattoo photo’s from a collection I acquired about 15 years ago. At the time, I thought that they were nothing more than a bunch of random photo’s of tattooed people, circus performers and the like. I later discovered that these rare photo’s were taken by a man named Bernard Kobel, who offered a mail order catalog in the 40’s through the 60’s. In the Kobel catalog, there were hundreds of photos of odd and peculiar subjects, including s & m, bondage, and sideshow freaks. Enjoy!

CLEVELAND 1000 TORNADO - 1929
Besides its outstanding performance, the Tornado was the most highly evolved American bike of its day, with many avant-garde features. Founded in 1915, the Ohio firm of Cleveland began with a little 270cc two-stroke which enjoyed a remarkable success. The company’s first 606cc four-cylinder model appeared in 1925, replaced in 1926 by the 4/45, an F-head 750cc monobloc four that was one of the first American bikes fitted with a front brake drum (though admittedly, it was pretty useless.) Sports Version The 4/45 was quickly joined by a sport version capable of 75mph. No matter how good it was, the Cleveland 4/45 was incapable of beating off the competition from the 1300cc Ace and Henderson fours, a weakness which was to repeat itself in August 1927 with the launch of the 4/61. This 1000cc, still a monobloc fourcylinders, was of completely original design, unlike all the other American big fours- Ace, Henderson, Excelsior and Indian- which, if they hadn’t actually been designed by W.G. “Bill” Henderson, were the work of one of his pupils. The Tornado Blows In The 4/61 was fast enough, with a tip speed of 90 mph, but its sports derivative, the Tornado of 1929, which had a lowered frame, bigger valves, lighters pistons and a higher compression ratio, was guaranteed by Cleveland to reach 100 mph. It was the fastest of all the American big fours, but it was Cleveland’s last new model, for the mark was wiped out in the Wall Street Crash just as it was getting ready to produce an even faster 1000cc four- the Century. Wheelchair Motorcycles for Paraplegic Bikers Arrive
(1888PressRelease) December 27, 2009 Four Mobility Conquest trikes arrived from the UK to the MobilityWorks Commercial facility on Wilbeth Road in Akron to begin the bike’s release into the U.S. marketplace. One of the motorcycles will be transferred to the Consumer showroom at 810 Moe Drive, Akron Ohio shortly. The other three trikes will make their way to other MobilityWorks locations in the coming weeks.
Said Brian Austin, General Manager at the MobilityWorks Akron consumer location, “We’re very excited to have this in our showroom. It’s such a unique solution for people in wheelchairs that we anticipate a lot of interest and traffic coming in as a result of it being here. We already have a special place laid out on our showroom floor for the public to come and view it, along with our wheelchair vans.”
The four Conquest imports are just the start of 45 (forty-five) total wheelchair accessible trikes scheduled for delivery to the United States within the next two to three months. They will be distributed to a network of authorized mobility van dealers throughout the country. Manufacturing of the Conquest will then take place by the MobilityWorks Commercial Manufacturing Division. All Conquests are built around brand new BMW motorcycles. The bike is capable of going 0-60 MPH in 7.6 seconds and a 15-second quarter mile time. They have been proven over several years (in England and Europe) to deliver superior performance, maneuverability and paraplegic wheelchair driving capabilities.
Test drive locations and scheduling haven’t yet been finalized. MobilityWorks in Akron has several options they are assessing. “Obviously weather will affect some of our scheduling, but those details will be worked out soon”, said Austin.

FTM Bi-State Area Sales Managers January 2010. Can ya believe it? Id like to take the time here and look back. For Tracy and myself the last 12 months have been filled with many ups and some really steep downs. Tracy’s role as a Full Throttle girl was cut short by a terrible accident. Friends we never knew we had, came forward in support. Steve and the FTM Army not only stood by her, but once she recovered, we were brought onboard to bring Illinois into the Magazine. We hope you are all pleased with our efforts, and thank you so much for your support. We all lost some very special people last year in the motorcycle world. I’d try and mention names here but I would hate to leave a single one out. Tracy and I are better people for knowing them while they were with us, and they will never ever be forgotten in our memories. We watched the motorcycle community support too many causes to list here. Working for this Magazine we have the honor to meet a lot of the organizers for these events. Its heart warming to see people so passionate about helping someone they know, or may not know. There are two events that really stand out in my mind. The Bikers Save Lives Benefit for the Coleman Family, and The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall in Freeburg Illinois. Being at these events changed our lives and outlooks on many levels. Now on to another year, and what will prove to be the best year so far for FTM. Many things are being planned in the war room, and Col. Kleinhans is mapping out our march for 2010. Tracy and I are working on a bike night in Illinois that will be sure to turn heads. When? Where? Well if The Colonel has taught me one thing its patients and the element of surprise. Motorcycle Maintenance = Safety A Motorcycle is a machine that functions well if you provide it with timely servicing and repairs. If you don’t treat your ride right, it will cost you in the end. That’s not a chance you want to take on two wheels. It seems that a lot of people have spent huge dollars on motorcycles in the last couple of years, yet their wallets shrink when it comes time to replace tires and perform maintenance. This situation is a growing one as a large number of newly purchased motorcycles age and endure normal wear and tear. As a "Safety Professional" with over twenty years of motorcycling experience, I see this as a scary phenomenon and absolutely refuse to ride with anyone whose motorcycle appears unsafe. I will not condone suicide by stupidity and do not want to be a victim of it either. One of the ways to check for problems is to complete an inspection. This inspection is a must before you ride, or even when you store your bike during the winter months. You will become aware of any small issue before it multiplies into a safety problem or something big and costly. Use the acronym

to help with your inspection.
T: Tires and Wheels. Tread, air pressure, brakes and threading of tires should be checked for possible cracks, dents or any loose spokes. Don’t forget your bike stands and rides on these important parts. You don’t want to end up with the rubber side “UP”. C: Controls. Ensure that levers, switches, cables, hoses and all other control mechanisms are in immaculate condition before you undertake any journey. L: Lights and Electrical System. Ensure that these are in good condition for safety reasons. O: Oil and Other Filters. Are the levels alright? Are there any leaks? Check thoroughly for any small repairs which might have to be done.
C: Chassis. Make sure that there is no problem with the suspension and that the drive belt or chain is in superior condition. S: Side Stand is in proper condition. This inspection does not take more than 3 to 5 minutes. Yet, if you do this before every ride, it can not only ensure safety but also prevents any big damage to your bike where you might have to spend a lot of money in repairs.
Read the owners’ manual supplied by the motorcycle manufacturer which contains specific instructions for specific parts, oil changes, lubrication procedure, checking tire pressure after a certain mileage and so on. Every manufacturer specifies a separate set of maintenance instructions which must be rigorously followed. Regular maintenance ensures that your bike provides optimum performance and safety for a long period of time which can also save you major bucks in repairs. Winter provides us an excellent break from riding to replace worn parts and tires. The last thing you want is a machine that doesn’t function correctly when you need it the most. “If it’s predictable, it’s preventable!”

My article this month is aimed mainly at ladies who think they would like to ride. The rest of you are going to say, “Oh I already knew all that, that’s common sense!” It might be common sense but, when you are learning everything at once it can be quite overwhelming so, if someone you know is thinking about hitting the road let me rephrase that, riding her own bike you might hand her this copy of FTM & let her read this. I took a ride on the ole’ Shovelhead today & it runs like a new bike since I got my new carb. When I’m out riding with my friends, I don’t think of myself as being any different, just because I’m a female. I’m just one of the group, in fact there are several gals that ride with us. As you travel down the highways, you will notice there are more & more lady bikers on the road all the time. I have had a lot of gal’s mention they would like to ride their own bike but, just aren’t sure they could or are a little afraid. Riding isn’t a male or female choice, or whether you’re large or small. I’m not an expert but, I do know there are several issues to address when starting to ride, regardless what your sex might be. You want to choose a bike that fits you, don’t buy it just because you like the way it looks. After all if you buy a pair of shoes that don’t fit, chances are you’re going to either get some sore feet or fall & break your neck, right? Sit on it & make sure your feet touch the ground flat, not tiptoe, you need good solid footing & no, high heeled boots aren’t the answer. Sometimes you can change the shocks, this helps lower it. Another tip for comfort is to get some risers for the handlebars, this helps bring them back so you can sit up straighter, believe me on a long trip you’ll be thankful. It’s best to start out on a smaller bike & then later go up if you desire. Practice, practice, practice, the more experience the better & the more you’ll enjoy. Always respect your bike, never take anything for granted. On the most beautiful days in the middle of nowhere things will pop up, whether it might be a deer, objects falling out of vehicles, wet pavement, or gravel, the list just goes on & on, so stay alert. My preference for learning is an open field somewhere, then if you do fall over there isn’t any blacktop or gravel under you. Familiarize yourself with all the controls & practice shifting up & down, also practice turning right & left & don’t forget those mirrors, it’s always good to know what is coming up behind you. Oh yeah, most important know how to stop & know where the kill switch is in case of an emergency. It isn’t about whether you’re male or a female, nor large or small it’s more about balance & your ability. If you are one of those women considering the ride, I hope you do decide to join in on the fun. There is nothing more relaxing, than cruising along with the wind in your face enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Who knows, maybe we’ll meet some day in our travels, until then, whether you choose to ride alone or with someone, ride safe! -
