Are you freak’n COLD yet !! This past month the boys and I had a chance to get out on the bikes. The temps hit 50 or so, man it was well deserved. Full Throttle Midwest has spread like a wildfire. As we watched other local publications just rip our ideas, my brothers and I knew our change had worked. We just had to shake the chain up and push her into 6th gear. The shifting of gears for F.T.M. has been taken well. Young and old alike, THANX FOR ALL THE COMMPLIMENTS !! When your on top everyone wants a piece of your ass, at every corner. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. In 2010 we are gonna pull something off that is gonna knock your socks off, weekly events have doubled, single day events, and supporting rally’s in Kansas, Mo, and Illinois. Watch for the F.T.M. Fleet and Road Krew on the streets this spring and summer. Get out there and get some damn tattoos and crank the Full Throttle Rock n Roll. Man this Rocks! The F.T.M Road Krew had the exclusive privilege to spend a day with the man himself R.K. Stratman. Where should I start .... R.K. sat with us for a pretty cool interview in his casual manner. We will have that and more coming in the March issue. This mans life story is simply incredible. We are honored to have R.K. become a part of the Full Throttle Midwest family. Watch for cool pics and bad ass content from R.K. coming this spring and summer. With Jim Wagner, R.K. Stratman and Brad Fink in your corner, you are sure to have a knock out blow in the first round. Which side of the ring do you want to be on ? We would like to invite the entire biking community to come out February 13th for The Full Throttle St. Valentines Day Massacre @ The Way Out Club doors open @ 9pm. This is being brought to you by Brown Bag Prop and Pure Pleasure Mega-centers St. Louis. Check out the page in this months mag for more info you cant miss it. The Kleinhans Boys would like to give a Huge shout out to Eddie Sorez “Sorez The Scibe” for his commitment to Full Throttle Midwest. Thanx Brother Sorez!

FEBRUARY 2010
when one mayor talks about his revenue from it to another mayor, OH SHIT! I said I wasn’t going there and I did it anyway sorry, enough said. Now before I go any further I want to make sure everyone understands this is my opinion only it doesn’t reflect on this magazine or anyone else.
February 2010 It’s already February and it seems like I just got done writing last month’s article, man how time flies. Well I got a few comments about the pipe meter and one I thought was interesting came from Jerry and Tracy, you know the Illinois side of things in this magazine and he turned me on to a web site with an article from a paper in Alton IL. It seems they got together with according to them, some bike clubs 14 to be exact it don’t mention who they are but I’m going to assume its bike groups. Anyway they have changed the law over there. You see they don’t even need one of the meters. They go on their own hearing, but I wonder if it’s legal? I guess some unlucky bastard is going to find out. They are printing up signs: that if my memory serves me correct, the abate over there paid for. Now maybe the paper isn’t giving the details right, as we all know they only tell you what they want you to know so I am only going on what I read and like I said, it’s by memory. The law also says something about loud music, yelling, and some other shit but I am going to guess bikers are the main target so let’s see how this works out for them. And I promise if it does workout for them it is just the start of things to come I know I hit on politics a little too much last month so I’m going to stay away from that . But what I see and I’m not a smoker, is what they are doing to them is what is coming for us. I can see a lot of you saying its one town, big deal. Well guess what it is a big deal. One foot in the door so to speak, opens it up for everyone and believe me,
MY ADVICE is to avoid this area at all cost. Boycott it so to speak, you see if nobody rides through their town and nobody pays the fines and the businesses have enough of it they will get with the people who came up with this, brain storm and tell them to SHOVE IT UP THERE ASSES, and then things can get back to normal you know another guy wrote me and said I was opinionated, I have to wander where that came from, when I was telling the guys at work they wandered the same thing Hmm! Go figure, the way I see it I don’t want to give these Bastards a dime , but to the guy who sent me that why don’t you just write them a check now and tell them to hold on to it till they stop you. Dumbass.
between twenty or thirty bucks on a trip over there, that’s a lot of revenue a year , there are plenty of biker friendly towns out there, so if a couple of them don’t want ya . F&^% EM! . Take your money elsewhere, Hell go by and see Jack at SHADY JACKS he would go out of his way to have ya. It’s just a hop across the river but you will be welcome no matter how loud your bike is I promise. The point I’m trying to make is, don’t give away your money when you don’t have to and don’t help open the door to something we will all regret, well that’s all. OH SHIT I almost forgot the guy from work who gave me the material for last month, asked me if it would have hurt to say his name so here it is Steve Rozycke the best damn rider, in his own mind. Thanks Steve. Ok that’s it for this month next month I got a little story from Wisconsin, so stay tuned. REMEMBER KEEP THE SHINEY SIDE UP AND THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN
new rider tip
: Always check your mirrors and know what’s coming behind you.
I apologize, but it pisses me off when someone doesn’t want to look at a bigger picture. Hell I guess he is right, I am opinionated. As I have said there are some very F*&^ing loud bikes out there and I believe that something has to change but let the bikers fix the problem. Why should we have to pay some money hungry people so they have money to pay for their shortfalls after all, we created the problem so let us fix it. But to do this, builders and aftermarket makers are going to have to change them first and then we will follow. After all that’s what makes this change possible. But I think there also needs to be some bending to these changes. I don’t believe a person who just bought some aftermarket pipes for a thousand bucks should be penalized or the old shovelheads with their pipes. To me, you pass this change but just like seatbelts if they weren’t there you didn’t need them, don’t punish the people who have made these changes to their bikes already, unless someone reimburses their cost. I know I have Vance & Heinz mufflers and I wouldn’t want to have to take them off and eat the cost so I know nobody out there would want to do it either. Its like when someone moves by an airport and complains about the noise of the planes or by train tracks and says the train keeps them up at night. Are they going to move the airport or the train tracks? Hell no, the bikers have been running the river road for as long as I can remember and just because some money moves in, they want the bikers to move out. The way I see it the bikers; should I figure the average biker spends

Full Throttle Book Review
MAXIMUM CONTROL: MASTERING YOUR HEAVYWEIGHT BIKE
Author: Pat Hahn As anyone who’s been on one knows, big bikes—Harleys, dressers, tourers, cruisers—handle differently than smaller bikes. They have different centers of gravity; they steer more slowly; they put you in a different riding positions; and riding one—especially riding it well—requires different skills. This book is aimed at helping owners of such motorcycles—bikes with big engines, long wheelbases, and a lot of weight—get the best ride out of them. Maximum Control addresses every aspect of riding—steering, positioning, braking, and carrying a passenger or heavy load. With clear information on differences in equipment—brakes, engine, drive system, even tires—this expert, accessible guide provides everything you need to know to handle your bike like a pro. The outcome will be, as promised, Maximum Control—and the ride of your life. Buy this book at www.motorbooks.com

Place the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt into a re-sealable plastic bag, and shake to mix. Add the chicken wings, seal, and toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Place the wings onto the prepared baking sheet, and place into the refrigerator. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F Whisk together the melted butter and hot sauce in a small bowl. Dip the wings into the butter mixture, and place back on the baking sheet. OLD DEFIANCE
LEBANON, MISSOURI
Old Defiance came together in 2007 with the common goal of playing classic-style punk rock; you know, fast, loud, aggressive and obnoxious! We are from a small town in Missouri, and love to travel all over the Midwest. Old Defiance will play your bar, basement, attic, pool hall, backyard, hallway, bathroom, all-ages venue, VFW Hall, outdoor festival, storage unit, or anywhere else we are welcome. We enjoy meeting new people, playing places we’ve never been, and always try to put every ounce of energy into our live show. We are a fiercely independent band with a strong DIY attitude. We have a full-length, self-titled cd, and our second album will be released in early 2010. It will be a LIVE album entitled, “SOLID OLD”. If any of this sounds good to you, feel free to check out our website, where all upcoming shows are listed, and songs are available for your listening pleasure. We are pleased to announce we will be playing in Chicago at Metal Shaker on Friday, April 2nd, 2010. Come on out to a show. We’re old, but friendly! CONTACT INFO: WWW.MYSPACE.COM/OLDDEFIANCE

THOUGHT POLICE BRUTALITY
INTERNATIONAL
We came together as a band in 2007. Since then we have recorded COPENHAGEN, DENMARK three DIY-EP’s and played more than 40 shows in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic and France. Live as well as on record we strive to make our music and performance as loud, fast, brutal, angry, vibrant, intense and energetic as possible – of course mostly it fails and we end up being drunk, stupid and untight - spitting on each other and the audience - until he pass out in the corner or end up in a fight with a microphone stand. The advantage of this is that it is a good way of sharing diseases – sort of like a natural vaccination between friends. At least shortly after our latest mini-tour - the “Pitted Against NaTOUR” to support our new release, “Pitted Against Nature” in November 2009 - three out of four band members quickly became quite ill. However now we are ready to head out to conquer the world, stronger and more alive than ever – with our immune systems up to date on nature’s most modern biological weapons of mass destruction, which might impair a small Danish hardcore band’s chances of ever taking over the world. Stone Celts Awards Quilt
Have you ever been to an event and bought a raffle ticket for a really cool item, and wondered if they ever really award it? Well we can tell you first hand that the Stone Celts Hog Chaper does. In the fall of 2008, Darlene Rose designed and hand made a beautiful quilt made from 25 Harley t-shirts from various parts of the country. She finished it in January 2009 and the Stone Celts began selling raffle tickets for the quilt from last March through December. Cost of the tickets were 6 for $5 or $1 each. For a quilt that nice, Tracy and I just had to take a shot so we bought tickets at Freize HD Open House where the quilt was on display. The winning ticket was drawn at the Stone Celts christmas party and im sad to say, we didnt win. However we are very happy to say that Floyd Alexander from Jerseyville Illinois did win it. He was awarded the quilt at the Elks lodge in Belleville Illinois during the stone Celts Hog Chapter meeting. The quilt will be registered with the State of Illinois and has been appraised at $1300. I true testament of the quality and pride Darlene Rose put into this quilt. So, yes someone won and got the quilt. However we all have a chance at another one of Darlene's quilts. This one commemorates the past 20 years of Illinois State Hog Rallys. The Stone Celts started selling raffle tickets for this quilt on 1/20/10. You can get tickets from Freize HD or any Stone Celt Chapter member. The quilt will be on display at the Illinois State Hog Rally in Ofallon Ill. Tracy and I would like to thank Roger Snyder for inviting us to the meeting and to all the Stone Celts for making us feel so welcome. We had a great time! - Jerry and Tracy

“They think we’r e crazy!”
There are the signs of the times, when you notice how much something has changed, such as the styles of clothing, cars, bikes, hairstyles, to name a few. Then there are the signs of age for example, rust on our bikes, faded paint, cracks in the seat or even wrinkles in our skin but, how many of you have noticed all of the variations of biker signs? The signs we use to communicate with each other while cruising down the highway. I know there is a book that is suppose to contain the proper ones but, like all things we have a tendency to make up our own version, or follow someone else’s lead. I know I’ve certainly seen my share while out riding with all of the different groups. How many of you have been riding along & the guy ahead of you kicks his leg out either at something on the road or a dog in the ditch. You have to wonder what the fellow in the car following you might be thinking if he has never been on a bike. He is probably saying something like “Did you see that crazy fool up there trying to kick that dog back off the road, he could’ve wrecked, he should have more sense than that!” Then there is the very popular event when someone forgets to cancel their turn signal. The fellow ahead of you starts his rendition of turn your signal off, this can be creative. You might think they’re telling you to get lost, or back off, you’re following too close. I remember this summer while I was participating in a local poker run all of a sudden the guys up ahead of us were fanning their arm extended above their head back & forth. Finally, I saw what all the commotion was about; there were deer on both sides of the road. You never know which way these guys are going to go, do you? When we stopped at the next gas station, I heard someone comment, “What the h---, was all the waving about, what deer, I didn’t see any deer, I was looking up in the sky, I thought something was in the sky!” Another one said “Me too!” The good thing is most of the time whether we know what they’re signing, we do slow down. I still have to wonder what the people in the cars are thinking, I’m sure they think we’re crazy. There is another sign I see quite often, when the guy or gal up ahead begins pointing at the ground, shaking their hand, my first thought might be gravel, then I rethink & consider maybe my turn signal, then I check & no. Oh, I’ve not fastened my saddle bag, No! What in the world? Oh yeh, now I know the ole famous H.D. poor circulation, got to get the blood flowing again! I guess the worst sign I can think of is, when you’re getting so old you pass on a ride with your friends with the excuse you’re too tired. Then my choice for the best sign would have to be, the ever famous biker wave we extend to all of our fellow bikers as we journey down the highways. I have to admit I’ve been tempted to make up some kind of crazy motion a few times, when a car was behind me. OK all of you comedians out there, yeh I’ve got you thinking, just remember your fellow biker behind you though, you might make him think you just told him to get lost! You know, that could come in handy also. Signs are great when riding in a group if………you know what they mean! -

1969 was a great year for choppers. Easy Rider and the CB750 hit the scene, inspiring bikers to pick up some tools and build a chopper. The CB750 had more firsts than any production bike before it, including the front disk brake, the all aluminum four cylinder engine, the electric starter and the overhead cam. I built my bike Back 4 The Future because such a revolutionary motorcycle is more than just a 1970s relic. Much has changed for choppers since the 1970s, like wide tires, flush mount gas caps, and 21 inch front wheels. On Back 4 The Future I used a few of these styles, my own innovations, and the unmistakable features I love about 70s chops. It started in a Wisconsin barn where I found the last remaining new Smith Brothers & Fetrow rigid frames with their classic 70s narrow shape and small tubing. It had lots of stretch in the rear but little in the front, so I added a 3” gooseneck with a 38 degree rake. I had a flame shape cut from the gusset using an electrostatic discharge machine. An internal glide front end gives this bike technology that 1970s builders didn’t have access to. Running an Exile sproter on the rear wheel, I had to hone standard wheel bearings to fit a metric axle. I shaved the existing rotor mount from the aftermarket hub and laced it to a 4” rim running a 160 tire. To finish the rear wheel I machined a sex nut to fit the large diameter hole of a billet aluminum taillight to the smaller axle. Stretching the frame allowed for the updated sleek and low look of a longer gas tank, stretched aluminum headlight, and an adapted Le Pera seat pan. Current style demands a rear fender fit the tire like a glove, so I sectioned a fender and used an English wheel to shrink it razor close to the tire. With no room for bolt heads, all fender mounts are threaded pads welded to the fender. Boosting the CB750 engine to more performance, I ported and polished the heads, bored the cylinders, upped the compression ratio, and mounted Cycle Exchange 34mm Mikuni carbs. To handle the extra power I back-cut and ramped the transmission gears. I hand formed a stainless steel oil tank to fit the bike visually, and fabricated an auxiliary tank to hold the required three quarts. Like the 70s builders who pioneered the low-rider, I made customizations to accommodate a three inch ride height. I chopped 4-into-1 Kawasaki pipes for right-turn clearance, welded a thick kickstand tab above the frame rail, and machined a matching kickstand to rest above the frame. Though the CB750 was the first to offer an electric starter, I ditched it for the old school feel of kick starting the bike. Using the empty starter cavity, and electrical technology not available in the 1970s, I hid most of the bike’s electrics. The wiring is run through the frame, and the coils are mounted on one-off stainless brackets. Even with all the upgrades, it is still a 1970s CB750 Honda in spirit and on paper. The cost to build it, insure it, and pay taxes on it are far lower than that of more modern choppers, which makes this a great bike to ride during this 70s-throwback recession.
