NEWSLETTER Welcome to ARTCYCLING! We are finishing a great and creative year! 2016 has been a creativity year for our artcyclers, full of new ideas, recycling spirit, collaborative work and, above everything, ART! We have already started the creative workshops and our feelings couldn’t be better. Next year we will continue with them and also with the training for our artists to help them make a living as an artist.

SOME ARTCYCLING IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS Christmas used to be linked to wasteful spending and excess but we can live a different Christmas time using our knowledge about upcycling. Even if we are not artists, we can go for a sustainable Christmas, internet is full of creative ideas and we are offering you here a selection of them (all the photos are taken from @pinterest): We have seen this cute and easy to make Christmas tree, you only need an old pallet, some paint and all your imagination! You just have to paint the shape of a Christmas tree using white color (you can also use green, red or golden paint, the typical colors of Christmas) and then put all the ornaments you want.

You don’t have to buy new things each year to decorate your home; you can use things from the nature, as branches, dry leaves, stones, etc., you can decorate them with paint, glass beads, etc. Maybe now you are thinking, “Ok, I already have the home decorated and ready for the celebrations, but I have thousands of gifts to buy!” Buying presents is not the only option; you can prepare them with your own hands. Handcraft is a wonderful activity, it is relaxing, you can use things you already have at home, you can develop your creativity and put your personal touch, making it a unique piece. You can knit a scarf, paint a picture, print a beautiful photo made by you, cook a delicious pie… just think a little bit what are you able to do and try to do your best. The person you are giving the present will be so happy to see all the efforts you have made to make him/her happy that he/she will never forget it. And instead of using gift wrap, you can use a piece of fabric (as the old traditional Japanese art furoshiki) or even recycled old boxes of cereals or cookies, it is impossible to be sweeter!!! We encourage you to live a different Christmas inspired by Artcycling, we are sure that you and your loved ones will really enjoy the experience.

WRITING A BLOG: A STORY OF SUCCESS We were thinking a lot about, not only how to show the artistic products made by our artcyclers, but also how to show everybody the creative process to do them. Finally, we agreed that creating national blogs will be a great solution for that. Thus, we will get the point of view directly from the artists and know better the intention behind the product. Each partner of the Artcycling project has created a blog where the artists express themselves and show us their work. Here you have the links to the Artcycling national blogs: - INTRAS
