There are a lot of things invented by Spanish people. Many others are mainly produced in Spain and exported to other countries


SPANISH EATING CUSTOMS Breakfast: 7.30-09.30 Toasts with olive oil or croissant, coffee and orange juice

Lunch: 14.00-15.30 Typical dishes depend on the region, normally we have a main dish, a second dish and a dessert.

Siesta: 20-30 min Favorite daily nap after the meal

Dinner: 21.00-22.30 Something light like a salad, fish, a sandwich or a selection of tapas


OUR INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE Spanish cuisine is based on the use of healthy ingredients like: olive oil, fruits, vegetables, pulses and wines. This is the real MEDITERRANEAN DIET, which has been recently added as an cultural heritage of mankind. Mediterranean Diet Pyramid


WHAT EVERY TOURIST LOVE! TAPAS ;-) A tradition begun long ago in Seville, since there, Spaniards have perfected the art of snacking. Going out for tapas consists of travelling from bar to bar and sharing plates of the bars' specialties with a small group of friends. Nowadays in almost every bar, tourists can find a wide range of delicious tapas!


REGIONAL SPECIALTIES Each region has its own typical dishes: o Paella from Valencia This typical dish contains vegetables, rice, meat or see-food. Always is being prepared in a special frying pan: the “paella”

o Sangría Delicious drink made with wine red, seasonal fruits and a bit of bubbly water or citrus flavored soda.


o Fabada Asturiana (bean stew) Fabada is made with dried large white beans (soaked overnight before use), pork sausage and bacon, black pudding and chorizo. It is a heavy dish, so its worth to take siesta after it ;-)

o Codfish from Basque country Is considered as a treasure of the nation’s cuisine in this region. Before cooking needs to spend few days in water to loose the salt. Prepared in many ways, always tastes incredibly.


o Gazpacho from AndalucĂ­a Is a liquid salad from the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, made of ripe tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, garlic, onion and bread moistened with water that is blended with olive oil and vinegar. Always served cold. o Tortilla de patatas ( Spanish omelete) Famous in all regions of the Spain. The potatoes and onions are sliced and fried in abundant oil and later mixed with raw beaten eggs before being slowly fried again in a pan.
