Introduction When we invited people to take part in our first Grand Finale fundraiser many years ago, we thought about a one-time event. We wanted to organize something that would be fun and at the same time would bring real benefits to the children in need of help. What kind of benefits? Nobody could have predicted. The immense success of the first Grand Finale enabled us to divide the collected funds between all children’s heart surgery units in Poland. Our action became nationwide in character, and our first purchases substantially improved working conditions for Polish children’s heart surgeons. Jurek Owsiak, Founder & Chairman of the GOCC Foundation The success of that first Grand Finale fundraiser encouraged us to set up a Foundation which would take on a mission of organizing a nationwide drive in the following years. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation was officially established in Warsaw on March 2nd 1993. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation is a public benefit organization which has been transforming medicine in Poland since 1993. The Foundation holds an annual public charitable collection in Poland and across the world. The funds raised in the Grand Finale public collection are used to purchase medical equipment for paediatric and geriatric wards and to run 6 all-year medical programmes and 1 educational initiative. In the 25 years of its activity, the charity raised over 825 million PLN (it amounts to over 196 million EU or 233 million USD) to help public hospitals across the country. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is one of the most significant non-governmental organizations in Poland and it enjoys trust of an overwhelming majority of the citizens of the country.
3
Jurek Owsiak, the originator and founder of the GOCC, combines the role of Chairman of the Board with his long-term voluntary service for the Foundation. Other key people on the Board of the Foundation are:
Professor Piotr Burczyński Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak Professor Bohdan Maruszewski
The Council is the supervisory body of the Foundation:
fr. Arkadiusz Nowak doctor Irena Eris professor Bogumiła Milewska-Bobula professor Andrzej Budaj professor Michał Matysiak
Learn more about the Foundation here http://en.wosp.org.pl/foundation/about_us According to the findings of the Public Opinion Research Centre (CBOS), the GOCC Foundation enjoys the trust of an overwhelming majority of Poles. 85% of citizens of Poland trust us! We are followed by Caritas, Polish Red Cross, and the Polish Armed Forces.

The Grand Finale The Grand Finale is a day-long public fundraiser organized by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in order to support Polish public healthcare system. Held once a year, usually on the second Sunday in January, the event combines a telethon, public and online fundraisers, charity auctions with a plethora of accompanying events taking place across the country. The collection, known as the Grand Finale, is a grassroots initiative, managed locally by 1700 regional Collection Centres, which coordinate the work of almost 120 thousand volunteers worldwide. We have ‘played’ in 137 locations across the globe, with public charitable collections taking place in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, in all major locations in Europe, in China and on both Poles of the Earth! The collections were coordinated by 45 Collection Centres based abroad. At 8:00 pm on the day of the Grand Finale, we invite everyone to enjoy a fireworks and lights display dubbed “Light to the Heavens”. We come together to send a symbolic signal – you can light a match, a candle, a torch – to the Good Angels up above. Let the winter night spark with a million of lights! The display is one of the most anticipated moments of the night, and we all come together as it blazes through the winter darkness. Another traditional element of our fundraiser is the Golden Hearts Auction. Emotions run high at 11:00 pm as the most prestigious lot, the Golden Heart №1, is auctioned out. Just after midnight we publicise the initial estimates of the amount of funds we have raised. Among the unique lots auctioned for charity by means of an online auction service Allegro, was Kaczmarski’s desk, sent to us from Australia. Read more at: www.en.wosp.org.pl/final

How to volunteer with us? 1. Come late October, you can check our website and see if there is a Collection Centre established in your area. 2. If there is no Collection Centre in your area yet, you can begin thinking about establishing one yourself…or wait to see if there’s one being formed. 3. You found a local Collection Centre! Well done, now you can get in touch with them and explain how you can help them coordinate the Grand Finale. 4. Another step is getting your volunteer’s ID card ready. Remember to provide the Collection Centre with your picture. 5. All in the Collection Centre’s hands now – wait for them to get back to you!
Are there any age restrictions for volunteering at the Grand Finale? All ages are welcome at the Grand Finale! If you are underage, we ask your legal guardians to sign your Volunteer’s Declaration. If you are under 16 years old on the day of the Finale, you should be accompanied by an adult.
Where do the volunteers fundraise? We never do door-to-door fundraising. Volunteers raise money locally, in public places. You can meet them in towns, cities, and villages across the country.
Will I receive a document confirming my voluntary service at the Grand Finale? Collection Centres receive certificate forms, which serve to confirm the amount of money you have raised and also can assert your participation in the Grand Finale. We rely on Chiefs of the respective Collection Centres to pass these documents onto you. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with any additional certificates.
6
How to set up a Collection Centre? First of all, check if there is a Collection Centre established locally. If there is a Collection Centre gearing up to hold the Grand Finale, why not join forces to organize an event on an even bigger scale? Building bridges and bringing different people, groups, and organizations together is a part of our mission. If there is no Collection Centre established in your area, it’s your call to take up action! 1. Find people, who will commit themselves to organising the work at the Collection Centre. They will be your Collection Centre crew – the core of the initiative. 2. Get to know the Rules and Regulations of the Collection Centre. Make sure your crew follow them! 3. Choose the Chief of the Collection Centre, who is going to take charge of the Collection Centre’s work and organisation. 4. The Chief of the Collection Centre then registers in a database, fills in an application form, and accepts the Rules and Regulations, agreeing to follow its provisions. The GOCC Foundation reserves the right to refuse to register a Collection Centre without justification. We do our best to provide you with an explanation, but usually the registration process for Collection Centres runs smoothly. Locally run Collection Centres hold events across Poland and abroad. We are always amazed by their creativity, ingenuity, and logistic skills. The effort put into coordinating such a beautiful, colourful, and above all - safe fundraiser is huge, and we applaud them for it. We play till the end of the time – and one day longer. You rock!
7
Play your part in the Grand Finale fundraiser – Bank of Bands The Bank of Bands is an inventory of artists and bands which agree to play free gigs in order to support the efforts of the Grand Finale fundraiser. We aim to put the artists in touch with the coordinators of local charitable collections, so that together they could take the fundraising event to a next level and persuade more people to brave the cold, winter day!
Help to hold the fundraiser in your area Are you representing a local business and you have funds, merchandise or services that can be useful for the Collection Centre in your area? Find out how you can help organize the charitable drive and get in touch with the volunteers! There is a list of registered Collection Centres available on our official website. Pick your local Collection Centre and see what they might need to hold the fundraiser. It is best to get in touch with the Chief of your chosen Collection Centre to find out what the volunteers might need. The list might include office supplies and beverages, or stage equipment and security services – everything depends on the scale of event they plan to hold. It’s a good idea to see what the volunteers plan to do, because it will give you an idea about what they might require to make the Grand Finale fundraiser work! Each Collection Centre receives an official permission to hold charitable colletion. Before embarking on a partnership with the Collection Centre you can ask to see this document. Speaking of documents – after we wrap up the fundraiser, each Collection Centre receives blank acknowledgement forms, which they should use to thank everyone who has supported their work. We are unable to express our gratitude personally – but we greatly appreciate your contribution!

Award in Chicago! Jurek Owsiak, the founder and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation accepted an award during the annual Physician’s Ball in Chicago. Polish Medical Society decided to honour the work of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and recognize its contribution to the improvement and development of medicine in Poland.
,,Plus Ratio Quam Vis” The Chairman of the Foundation has been awarded “Plus Ratio Quam Vis” medal on July 28th, 2017. Jagiellonian University in Krakow chose to honour his life-long commitment to supporting medicine in Poland, and the Foundation’s support of the University Hospital in Krakow, in particular. The list of laureates includes pope John Paul II, doctor James Dewey Watson, Jose Manuel Barosso, and Andrzej Wajda.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE NOMINATION February 2017 brought news that our Foundation has been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize! We feel that this nomination is a recognition of the efforts and commitment of thousands of people involved in our work throughout the years of our activity. We love to share the news about this immense honour and we keep reminding everyone that each friend of the cause – a member of the Collection Centre crew, a volunteer, a benefactor or anyone who proudly displays a red hear sticker is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize too! The idea of people coming together to help others is as infections as smiling. “Heart for Heart” campaign – a twin initiative to our Grand Finale fundraiser – aims to raise money for children’s medicine in major towns across Ukraine. Each year we are joined by new Collection Centres springing up in different locations across the globe and we now “play” internationally! The support we have received from our friends has flooded our hearts with warmth and joy - just like their photos with #nobeldlawosp hashtag flooded social media platforms. Thank you all!

Anniversary Medals for our 25th birthday! We are 25 years young. To celebrate this milestone in the history of our Foundation we held the anniversary Grand Finale result reveal at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. We celebrated a record fundraiser and decided to thank all our friends for their support and award them with our silver anniversary medals.
International Convention in Brussels Our charitable Orchestra plays globally - taking our initiative to Japan, China, Georgia, all over Europe and fundraising for Polish medicine in the Americas. We decided to get together with the representatives of 10 international Collection Centres in Brussels. We got to meet the amazing volunteers and discussed our plans for the future.

NATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR NON-INVASIVE RESPIRATORY SUPPORT OF NEW-BORNS - INFANT FLOW
Nationwide Programme for Non-invasive Respiratory Support of New-borns - Infant Flow The aim of this programme is to limit the number of cases of mechanical ventilation in neonates and premature babies, because this procedure often leads to acute lung complications. What we offer instead is a modern and non-invasive method, which does not require intubation. We have purchased 464 Infant Flow devices, 50 oscillating respirators, 140 mobile SiPAP stands, and 32 respirators with automatic oxygen supply control for 245 neonate units all over Poland. 52 000 babies have been treated within this project. http://en.wosp.org.pl/medical * as of October 2017
THE NATIONAL EARLY CANCER DIAGNOSTICS PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN
Nationwide Programme for Early Cancer Diagnosis in Children The aim of this programme is to develop a nationwide system for cancer diagnostics for children. It has enabled us to establish cancer diagnostic centres all over Poland, equip children’s oncology clinics with state-of-the-art medical devices, buy 80 high-class ultrasound scanners and 6 CAT scanners. In 2016 we have purchased devices for 2.5 million PLN in order to launch and equip a Central Laboratory of Genetic Research in Children’s Oncology – ONCOLAB in Łódź. http://en.wosp.org.pl/medical

NATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR PERSONAL INSULIN PUMP TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH DIABETES
Nationwide Programme for Personal Insulin Pump Treatment of Children with Diabetes The aim of the programme was to provide diabetic children with insulin pumps in order to give them a chance for an easier and more active life despite their illness. Once it has been correctly programmed, a personal insulin pump automatically delivers the necessary amount of insulin. The programme, run between the years 2001 and 2008, enabled us to buy a total of 2978 personal insulin pumps for children under 10 years of age. http://en.wosp.org.pl/medical
NATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR PERSONAL INSULIN PUMP TREATMENT OF PREGNANT WOMEN WITH DIABETES
Nationwide Programme for Personal Insulin Pump Pump Treatment of Pregnant Women with Diabetes The aim of this programme is to make personal insulin pumps available to women with diabetes. The use of an insulin pump by a pregnant diabetic woman substantially lowers the risk of miscarriage, innate defects and medical complications during pregnancy and childbirth. It bolsters the correct development of the baby and improves the physical and mental state of the mother. Loan of the personal insulin pump is free of charge. We have purchased 958 personal insulin pumps. We have spent 10.605.113,35 PLN* on this equipment! Between 2004 and the end of November 2016, our pumps were rented to a total of 2 892 women and we have celebrated healthy birth of 1 265 babies! http://en.wosp.org.pl/medical *as of December 2017

NATIONAL PROGRAMME OF BONE EXTENSION AND TREATING BONE DEFECTS IN CHILDREN
National Programme of Bone Extension and Treating Bone Defects in Children The aim of this programme is to provide orthopaedic clinics in Poland with equipment used to treat bone defects in children - allowing to extend and straighten limb bones. We have launched this new medical programme in May 2017. Thanks to the funds raised through our charitable tax donation drive we have been able to buy specialist equipment to be used to stabilise and fix bone defects in children. The specialised external fixators are used by the talented and dedicated doctors to treat children who require operations and procedures in order to extend or stabilise their limb bones. Up till now, children had to undergo operations (sometimes even a series of surgeries) and a lengthy rehabilitation process abroad. We can now ensure that children can receive treatment in Poland! We have purchased TSF frames, hardware and software as well as specialist orthopaedic surgery tables and C-arm RTGs to equip the clinics taking part in the programme.
Clinics taking part in the project: Clinic of Paediatric Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Otwock Clinic of Paediatric Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Poznań

We aim to improve the level of care available to patients in public hospitals in Poland. We donated state-of-the-art equipment to paediatric and geriatric wards which provide free, accessible care. Each year our team of experts carefully choses an area of medicine we decide to support.
We have purchased equipment for the following branches of children’s medicine: ONCOLOGY & HAEMATOLOGY CARDIAC SURGERY NEPHROLOGY NEONATOLOGY TRAUMATOLOGY MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS LARYNGOLOGY ORTHOPAEDIC AND TRAUMATOLOGY SURGERY ANAESTHESIOLOGY & INTENSIVE THERAPY UROLOGY OPHTHALMOLOGY TREATMENT OF DIABETES GENERAL PAEDIATRICS RHEUMATOLOGY WE ALSO SUPPORTED GERIATRICS. 16
Providing dignified medical care for the elderly When you consider the demand for good geriatric care, you begin to see that there are still too few geriatric wards in Poland. It is, without doubt, one of the most neglected branches of medicine in the country. Still, there is hope that thanks to the buzz surrounding the Grand Finale fundraisers, we have been able to draw public attention to this matter. It is high time we came face to face with the truth: due to the changing social model of family and the ageing of the population of the country, there is a huge need to establish a system ensuring that the dignity and respect for the elderly patients go hand in hand with modern methods of treatment.
We decided to come to aid of geriatric units and help long-term care wards, where patients usually remain for an indeterminate time. As soon as we began to explore the needs of these units, we realized that they are in dire need of the most basic pieces of equipment.
We have been committed to the programme of transforming geriatrics in Poland for 5 years. All in all, we have purchased 13 527 pieces of equipment worth over 98 million PLN. We have supported 313 units treating senior citizens.
GOCC Library These handbooks include latest research and contemporary standards and developments in medicine. The handbooks are especially useful for students of medicine and medical professionals looking to extend their knowledge in the field.

Our equipment works accross the country Equipment donated by the Foundation must be used to offer accessible, free medical care at public hospitals and units across the country.
Hospitals, which received equipment from the Foundation, display a plafond with our logo.

Treatment with love! We have been completely shocked by the photograph of a mother, who had to sleep on the hospital floor in order to be with her sick child. One of the major issues we are struggling with, when it comes to children’s hospitals in Poland, is the lack of facilities for parents and guardians of little patients. We want to provide parents and guardians staying with children with some basic comforts, that’s why we have purchased 438 recliners. We are committed to increasing the number of recliners we purchase, provided that they will be freely available to parents or guardians. We want to change much more than the way hospitals are furnished – we want to make parents welcome at hospitals, because they offer invaluable help and support to medical professionals and improve the chances of child’s recovery. We would like to work closely with hospitals to implement our new initiative – treatment with love!
Equipment for oncology ONCOLAB has been launched in September 2016 and it al-
lows doctors to run detailed genetic tests in order to tailor treatment individually. Testing enables specialists to discover abnormalities in samples taken from recovering cancer patients and adjust their treatments accordingly. Clinic of Paediatrics, Oncology, Haematology and Diabetology treats children from the region and little patients from all over the country. The staff at this clinic is known for their dedication and the research conducted at the clinic aims to introduce new, more effective methods of treating cancer in children. Other issues that the scientists aim to tackle are early cancer diagnosis, so that the treatment can begin at the early stage of disease and help to prevent complications. Such a complex research requires state-of-the-art equipment, so the Board of the Foundation decided to equip oncological research and testing laboratory at the clinic with devices worth over 2.5 million PLN.

Get Even with Diabetes Diabetes is a global problem. The illness strikes regardless of age, sex, race, nation or religion. „Get Even with Diabetes” is a campaign aimed at raising awareness of diabetes in the Polish society. We support effective treatment for patients with diabetes, promote healthy lifestyle as a way of preventing the illness, and fight against prejudice and intolerance of diabetics. One of the key elements of the „Get Even with Diabetes” initiative is encouraging leading food producers in Poland to place important information on carbohydrate, protein and fat exchange units on the labels of their products. The data helps diabetics quickly assess the amount of insulin which should be taken after the meal and avoid dangerous dosage errors. Look for products with the „Get Even with Diabetes” logo!
Get Even with Diabetes Run In aid of raising diabetes awareness and showing our support of those afflicted by the disease, we hold a run dedicated to diabetes on the day of the Grand Finale. Let’s show our solidarity and fight the stigma surrounding the disease. The event is held in towns across the country, promoting healthy lifestyle and bringing people together in the same time. Since the 8th edition of the run in 2014, the GOCC Foundation has been charging each runner a participation fee. All the funds raised this way are used to purchase personal insulin pumps, which are rented free of charge to pregnant women with diabetes. In 2018 the runners will participate in the 12th edition of the race.

Individual Help So far, we have assigned 19 654 689,03 PLN to provide support for 4865 children. The main objective of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity foundation is to purchase medical equipment for Polish public hospitals. However, due to an overwhelming amount of personal requests for help, we have decided to launch the programme addressing the needs of children who undergo rehabilitation in their homes. We are unable to finance operations or treatments of adults or children – the money raised during the Grand Finale can be allotted only for the purchase of equipment necessary for rehabilitation at home. *as of December 2017

Educational Programme CPR for Schools We have decided to launch a programme aiming to teach CPR and first aid to children in primary schools in Poland in 2006. We wanted to establish a consistent CPR training programme in primary schools. By introducing children to CPR we foster good habits from a very early age. Helping others becomes their second nature! We have trained 28 858 teachers, who in turn, teach the basic life support and first aid in 12 337 schools across Poland. Almost 3 million children learn CPR at primary schools! It means that the programme has reached 91% schools in the country.* *as of December 2017

Courses and Teaching Aids are free! We rely on Peace Patrol volunteers, who have been certified by AHA, to provide courses to teachers. The foundation is the first NGO in Poland which has been authorised to use AHA system to teach CPR. We have donated over 66 400 manikins.
Check if first aid is taught at your child’s school Use a simple search tool to check if your child’s school is a part of the CPR for schools programme. You can check if there are teachers trained to teach CPR, and if the school has received all necessary teaching aids. www.szkoly.wosp.org.pl (Polish only)

POLAND KNOWS HOW TO SAVE LIVES! Children who have learned how to save lives are very proud of their skills, and they enjoy sharing this knowledge with adults, taking up the roles of teachers and instructors. A lot of schools take inspiration from our programme to spread knowledge about CPR in their communities. We encourage everyone to get involved in World First Aid Day and raise awareness. We also encourage schools to take up action and participate in our annual CPR for Schools Competition. European Restart a Heart Day is a great opportunity to promote CPR and first aid to the community, and that’s why we have decided in set ourselves a challenge – we come together to set new records. In 2013 there has been 83 111 participants attempting to set a new record. In 2015, there has been 92 049 people taking part in our attempt. In 2016 we have set a new record! We have been joined by 16 557 people, who participated in the largest CPR lesson in the country. In 2017 we have organized an event with 85 010 participants!
Encourage your local schools to join the program CPR for Schools is a programme dedicated to children from grades 1-3. Limited resources make us unable to provide CPR courses to children in other age groups. However, if you wish to organize a course for older children, you can always get in touch with a school, which has been participating in our programme. They have both the skills and the equipment. We know that many schools are happy to help, and seeing a community come together is extremely rewarding!

The Peace Patrol is a community of volunteers, who come together to take part in different events organised by the foundation. These amazing people are present during the Grand Finales, and they help, taking up different roles, during Woodstock Festival Poland. Each member of the Peace Patrol has completed a first aid, survival, and team-building course at our training centre at Szadowo-Młyn. They are prepared to work as event stewards and assist in organization of the largest open-air music festival in Europe. Peace Patrol is not only about first aid training and survival exercises – often it is the beginning of amazing adventures and is, first and foremost, a close-knit community of people spanning continents and generations.
All volunteers who have completed the course meet at Woodstock Festival Poland. The work of the Patrollers is one of the main reasons why professional services set Woodstock Festival Poland as an example of one of the best festival management and organization in Poland. We all work hard to retain its unique character best summarized by our mottos: Love! Friendship! Music! Rock & roll! Stop the violence! Stop drugs!

It is important to us that Woodstock Festival Poland is environmentally friendly. We keep our eyes open for the latest solutions and introduce eco-friendly innovations every year. We encourage Woodstockians to travel to our festival by public transport rather than cars and to carpool. Of course, we understand that no festival can be eco without the help from its participants. Please help us keep the meadows surrounding our festival site clean & vibrantly green!

Academy of the Finest Arts The Academy of the Finest Arts is one of the most important elements of Woodstock Festival Poland. This is where various authorities, journalists, and TV personalities come to share their stories, ideas, and views. What do they talk about? Faith, truth, dreams, adventures and all kinds of absolutely fascinating little things. They share grandiose ideas and engage in fascinating conversation with the young audience. We have had the joy to share our thoughts with some of the greatest thinkers, activists, artists there are. AFA is a place committed to learning and tolerant and open exchange of opinions and ideas about the world that surrounds us. We have hosted talks by famous and respected figures in different fields – politicians, religious leaders, social activists, artists, and writers. Audience is encouraged to ask questions and to participate in the meetings, and they eagerly do so. The Academy traditionally hosts theatre performances, late-night stand-up comedy shows, and features intimate night-time concerts. AFA is also a venue where we can host different NGOs and present their initiatives. On a hill, with a picturesque view of the stage, third sector activists can set their stalls and share their message. Other organizations, such as SWPS and Polish Outdoor Group invite people to check out their workshops. www.en.woodstockfestival.pl

What else do we do? The GOCC Foundation often engages in different projects and initiatives. In 1997, we prepared 156 aid transports to help those who suffered when a huge flood hit southern part of Poland. In 1999, we organized a transport of medicines for refugees in Albania. In 2005, we provided help to tsunami victims in Sri Lanka by equipping five hospitals. In 2006, after a roof of an exhibition hall in Katowice collapsed we bought equipment for 5 specialist fire brigade rescue units. In 2010, a mini-Finale fundraiser themed Stop Floods, helped us raise 2 644 507, 34 PLN and buy equipment for 564 units of voluntary fire brigades. In 2012, we donated 100 Braille typewriters for visually impaired children living in a missionary centre run by Sisters of St. Francis in Kibeho, Rwanda. In 2013, the first edition of our conference ‘Now! Go Online’ helped us meet other non-governmental organizations and discus how the Internet and new technologies can be used in our everyday work. In 2014, we invited other NGOs to take part in workshops and we launched a series of meetings at which we try to combine the work of an NGO with the online world and inspire others to engage in joint projects. The year 2014 also saw the opening of the portal ‘Good Site of the Internet’ (www.dobrastronainternetu.pl) dedicated to showing the good practices of NGOs online. In 2017 the star-studded team representing the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation came against the team representing TVN station in an exciting charity football game. We have raised funds to purchase a state-of-the-art emergency vehicle for Children’s Memorial Hospital in Warsaw. In October 2017 we decided to come in aid of volunteer firefighting departments which have been involved in removing the damage in the aftermath of natural disaster in northern and central Poland. We purchased 264 pieces of specialist equipment for almost 1.5 million PLN. We have helped 178 volunteer fire departments across the country. We supported firefighters with equipment worth almost 6 million PLN.

Finances How do we raise money? Once in a year, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation holds a huge one-day fundraiser called the Grand Finale. On this day, 120 000 volunteers coordinated by 1 700 Collection Centres take to the streets to raise money. There are online auctions and fundraisers, concerts, fire shows, workshops, and much more – with proceeds all going to support medicine in Poland. We also rely on individual donations, 1% charitable tax deductions and corporate support. We devote 92% of the funds collected at the public fundraiser to purchase of medical equipment and financing medical and educational programmes. The remaining 8% are used to cover our administrative costs. This data is taken from the report produced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The spokesperson for the Ministry has added that this result represents the best result of relationship of costs vs donations represented by an NGO in the country.
We are always very precise, transparent and honest. Every year, our work is audited by independent companies. The GOCC Foundation creates scrupulous reports and sends them to all public bodies supervising our work: Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Finance and the relevant Tax Office. Detailed financial accounts and reports of the Foundation and the reports from individual Grand Finale fundraisers are available on our websites.

How do we buy the equipment? It might sound simple, but the key to successful equipment purchase is defining the needs of public hospitals, consulting experts, and purchasing the best equipment - at the best price! We aim to support public medicine in Poland and we do so by purchasing equipment at an open tender, which is held after we receive requests for equipment from the hospitals across the country. This allows us to purchase devices which will be used to the full extent of their capacity and just the devices which are necessary.
Check where your money went From the very beginning of its existence, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation has put much effort in creating honest financial reports from each Grand Finale fundraiser. With the support of The Story Company we came up with a website where you can check exactly how your donation contributed to the cause. More information here: www.nacoidamojepieniadze.wosp.org.pl

FAQ: How do I get in touch with you?
Our offices are located in Warsaw, on Dominikańska 19C. You can find our address and telephone number on our site. You can also reach out to us via our social media channels.
Have you got local chapters of foundation?
No, we are based only in Warsaw, and we don’t have any local chapters. The Collection Centres, which coordinate the Grand Finale fundraising drives, are not local representatives or chapters of the GOCC. Collection Centres allow people, who would like to support the case, to come together, but they do not work for us, per se.
Do you work all year round?
The Foundation works all year round, coordinating equipment purchases and medical and educational programmes, which are carried out in hospitals in Poland.
How can I support your work?
There’s something that everyone can do to help us! You can pitch in by helping us organise the massive events such as the Grand Finale or Woodstock Festival Poland. If you don’t have enough time to volunteer, but you would still like to contribute, you can make a donation on our website.
Under what conditions is equipment donated to hospitals?
Each piece of equipment is passed to the hospital as a donation. As a granter, the Foundation reserves the right to control the beneficiary (according to the provision in the donation contract). What’s more, according to the Article 893 of the Code of Civil Proceedings, the beneficiary is obliged to comply with a series of requirements.
How can a hospital apply for equipment?
A request for the equipment, which should comply with the theme of the current Grand Finale or should function within the framework of one of the medical programmes, has to be sent to the GOCC office by mail. The official document should bear a signature of the director of the hospital. The request for the equipment should be appropriately motivated: it has to contain the description of the conditions of the hospital and it should list the equipment they use. It needs to state the amount of patients, who receive treatment and list all reasons why the hospital needs to receive the support. The request should clearly state the hospital’s legal entity form. We also need to receive documents which prove that the hospital is offering treatment free of charge, within the framework of publicly available medical care.
