Southwest Depot The Southwest depot located in Radstock Somerset, will be taking the supply chain to the Southwest and South coast, servicing major towns and cities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Southampton along with all the great destinations in between. Ryan Read will be heading up the depot with initial help coming from his brother Mark Read who will be fulfilling deliveries along with some sales efforts. Ryan said ‘’We are really excited to get this project off the ground, the beer industry in this part of the country is extremely diverse with vast offerings across traditional pubs and the craftiest of bars, there really is something for everyone and that is where we can excel with the range we will be building from breweries both domestic and abroad. It will also be great to introduce the new Cross Bay ‘Wander Range’ which I have been working on to develop with the team. Director’s Notes Hello everyone. Happy winter to you all and we hope you are all wrapped up well whilst reading this. After a red hot summer the winter is truly upon us and hopefully this drives people indoors seeking solace in a nice pint of warming cask ale. 2018 has been a year to remember for Funky Brands. We have changed our identity......to Funky Brands from Funky Beers. We have added our very own imported and exclusive German brand of Dinkelacker-Schwaben Bräu to our portfolio and we have increased our sales force, coverage and delivery options significantly. As we move into our 5th year or trading, what’s on the horizon we may ask ourselves? Well we have some great plans for going forward into 2019. The addition of Ryan Read into our team (previously of Skinners and more recently Electric Bear) is something we are all very happy about and during his first few months with us we can see the direction of our very own Cross Bay brewery changing into a really forward thinking and innovative brewing company with some fantastic beers of a real high quality already available and coming in the near future. I’m sure you will all agree when you see our new “Wonder Range” later in the brochure. Other changes I’m sure you will be able to spot are the deals we now have on offer throughout this next quarter. We have worked tooth and nail to ensure maximum value for our loyal customers and our brewing partners are all helping support you guys in trade with some great deals on offer throughout. Our “Buy 6 receive a Cross Bay free” is still our most prominent and best value for money deal but there are others in there to wet all of your appetites and repay the loyalty you have shown us. Please make sure you check them out. The pictures attached we all wanted to share with you guys as these are from our first ever trip away with our loyal customers. As part of becoming a permanent stockist of Dinkelacker-Schwaben Bräu we like to offer the opportunity of winning a trip out to Stuttgart with some members of our team. During this trip we include an all expenses paid trip to the brewery, the restaurants and bars of the historic city, the Mercedes Benz museum and tour and to top it all off a visit and table in the Cannstatter Volksfest, the worlds second largest beer festival. This year we took our partners Gareth (of Craft Minded, Liverpool), Ed (of Trap and Hatch, Waterloo), Chris and Donna (of The Dalmeny, Lytham St Anne’s), Alex (of Pump and Truncheon, Blackpool) and Andy (of Brew Room and West Coast Rock Brewing Co Head Brewer, Blackpool). These guys have supported the brands since we first brought it to the North West and the very least we could do was get them over to Stuttgart and show them all the brewery and festival has to offer. It certainly did not disappoint and became the cause of some very sore heads and tiredness after 3 days of relentless food and of course, Dinkelacker-Schwaben Bräu beers.
