Gračanica Clock Tower, a trademark of the town, is something you should not miss out on seeing. In 2020, it was declared a national monument of BiH. The clock has been showing the exact time to the people of Gračanica for the fourth century in a row. In its immediate vicinity is Captain Osman’s Madrasa, which was built in 1800 by the father of the famous Captain Husein Gradaščević. Nowadays, the madrasa dominates the town center making it more attractive. It is a wonderful example of the so-called pseudo-Moorish architectural style. Terme Gračanica Spa and Recreation Complex is situated at the entrance to Gračanica, 500 meters from the main road from Doboj to Tuzla. Thermal mineral water is used for drinking and bathing to alleviate health problems and for thermal hydrokinetic therapy in swimming pools. It helps with physical therapy after an injury and rheumatic diseases, and it also helps people to relax, so the periodical use of baths containing thermal mineral waters from natural springs is recommended. The water is between 36-38 degrees Celsius. Visitors have access to a small pool for children, a medium-size and a large pool, as well as a restaurant and a beach volleyball court.

The town of Gračanica’s Heritage Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of the area, is situated in premises of the Bosnian Cultural Centre. Anyone who wants to learn about the origins of urban settlements in the area must visit the Medieval Town of Soko. It played an important role in Medieval Bosnia and has a rich history, as can be observed in a large number of archaeological sites.

ACTIVE HOLIDAY AT VIS, MONJ, AND RATIŠ PICNIC AREAS

Lovers of active holidays will certainly be enchanted by Vis, Monj, and Ratiš picnic areas, which offer a wide range of activities including hiking, paragliding, mountain biking, and other sporting activities. A few kilometres away from the town center is the highest peak of Mount Trebava—Vis picnic area—a family oasis of peace. In addition to having a multi-sport courts and a children’s playground, Vis is an ideal place mountain biking aficionados. With MTB Trebava, give in to adrenaline rush and enjoy the stunning natural scenery in the area! Monj picnic area is located in the village Doborovci and is a perfect place those who love hiking and waking in the fresh air. Monj is noted for the priceless views from top of the hill. Ratiš picnic area is familiar prayer site to many. In the time of drought, devout believers would gather together at the top of Ratiš and pray for rain. It is a trace of an older religion. The tourist information board in Dovište says that the tradition of praying there dates back to 700 years ago.

PANONSKA JEZERA

Tuzla je jedini grad u Evropi koji ima slana jezera i jedini grad na svijetu čija se slana jezera, kupalište i plaža nalaze u centru grada. To su jezera u kojima se nalazi mineralima bogata slana voda, koja se slanim bunarima crpi ispod zemlje. Salinitet vode odgovara morskoj vodi i iznosi 30-40 gr./l. Pored užitka u kupanju u vodi, ova voda ima i ljekovita svojstva, pogotovo u liječenju steriliteta, reumatskih i disajnih oboljenja. Ako se pitate pored kojih značajnih spomenika bi mogli napraviti fotografije za dugo sjećanje na Tuzlu, predlažemo da se uputite ka Gradskom parku, u kojem centralno mjesto zauzima spomenik prvog bosanskog kralja Tvrtka I Kotromanića. Osim toga, na tuzlanskom Korzu svakako trebate pozirati pored spomenika posvećenih tuzlanskim velikanima, Ismetu Mujezinoviću i Meši Selimoviću.
