Sex Ed With Mistress M: How To Get Laid
It has come to my attention that some of you are having trouble getting laid and still others of you haven’t found that perfect ‘one’* , their ‘soul mate’**. Okay, first of all to both groups, slow down. You can’t force these things. Well, you can try, but it is called rape in the first situation and stalking in the second.

FREEDUMB FREEDUMB OF OF SPEECH SPEECH Flik Schemmer recounts her personal opinion about the state of freedom of speech in Australia today. This article does not reflect the views of Empire Times.
Here’s an exposition I’d like you to feel with me, Australia: Apathy is the antithesis of freedom. Apathy spreads like a noxious weed that clouds our sense to see the world as a better place. It’s not about forgetting to read the news or shameless aversion to homeless people. It’s about the ability to ‘just not give a shit’ about anything outside of the bubble with which you surround yourself.

Freedom isn’t free. It shouldn’t be a bragging point that ‘Oh, I don’t get involved in politics,’ as if that makes you somehow cleaner. No, that makes you derelict of duty in a republic. Liars and panderers in government would have a much harder time of it if so many people didn’t insist on their right to remain ignorant and blindly agreeable. – Bill Maher –

Ireland and Canada have done the same. This is absolutely incredible! I say congratulations to all those who have donated to cancer research and are encouraging others to do the same! ‘Back Off’ I just can’t wrap my head around the negative conceptions in place around the Bachelor of Arts (BA), the most popular degree at this university; all these students must be on to a good thing, right?
I used to dread when people asked me what I was going to study at university. As I’m studying a Bachelor of Arts (‘Enhanced Program for High Achievers’), I’ve received an abundance of disapproving sounds, “But what careers will that bring?” and my personal favourite: “How lucrative will that be?”

Words by Laura Telford The only thing people hate more than their least desired party winning an election, is if no one wins the election. On March 15, I spoke to a Liberal member, who was handing out “how-to-vote cards and she said, she honestly didn’t care who won, so long as we ended up with a government leading in the majority. Well we were all in for a shock! Not only did her party not win, we also have a minority government at the hands of Geoff Brock, the Member for Frome (read Member for Port Pirie and surrounding areas).
result, the experiences and lessons learnt from a day on a polling booth will enlighten even the most apathetic voter to the sacredness of voting and elections.

Escapism in Fantasy Words By Miranda Richardson Artwork By Caroline Sandgren I’ve heard too many people argue that the best thing about the fantasy genre is ‘escapism’. Fantasy can indeed be an absorbing, relaxing means of forgetting our own problems for a while, but all fiction can do this. Fiction depicts a facet of reality, but even realism is not a perfect clone of our world. All fiction takes us away from our own lives, but also reflects on them. However, the argument that escapism is fantasy’s greatest quality is somewhat counterintuitive.

Flinders University Secular Society
The Flinders University Secular Society is a relatively new kid on campus starting up in August of 2012, however, we already have a member base of well over 100 people including; students, faculty members and people from the wider community. The Genesis for the formation of the Secular Society was a speech by Jason Ball at the 2012 Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne where our founder was inspired to start a secular club at Flinders Uni. The general idea of the Secular Society is to help freethinking students, graduates, staff and friends connect and progress the secular agenda.

Don’t Cry For Me Argentina Sosta Food Review
There are a few restaurants around Adelaide that are iconic - the reviews are good, it’s consistently busy and year after year they remain open. One such place is Sosta Argentinian Kitchen. Since its opening in 2004, there hasn’t been another Argentinian restaurant you’d choose over it, especially with its prime position on Rundle Street. It seems Sosta anticipated that you might not know what Argentinian food actually is, so the quote on the front of the menu clears things up by describing Argentina’s cultural history and the European influence on their food. Getting a table is a little tricky, don’t expect to be seated if you walk in at 8.00pm on a Friday night. Make your booking early in the week and let the anticipation build until it’s finally time to eat there.

We Call Out; We Are Answered Words by Charles Chiam Chuang Chao
They say your loved ones are never really gone, as long as you remember them. Yet, most of the time, remembering them can be very painful, but no matter what, you refuse to forget. However, how would you realistically react when someone you lost called you from the afterlife? This is the question presented by Mitch Albom’s The First Phone Call From Heaven and it provides a very realistic scenario on how such an event can have global consequences.

Isaac. It’s Friday night, and the phone is ringing. I don’t want to answer because I know it’s Aunt Joanne and I’m not in the mood for the awkward, yes-you’ve-told-me-before-but-tell-me-again stories while she waits to have a “proper adult” conversation with Mum. I pick it up anyway. It could be about Kelly. She’d gone into the hospital this morning, “ready to pop” she said. I want to hear about little Isaac, because Kelly and I weren’t speaking when she had William. She was dealing with her family, and I was dealing with mine; we didn’t have time for each other.

Film Reviews The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show is sort of like a mirage. If I close my eyes really tight, I’m pretty sure I can recall seeing it once or twice. I may, however just be imagining things. That being said, when I sat down to watch Mr Peabody and Sherman I was able to recall that they were in one of the cartoon shorts that didn’t feature the moose and the squirrel. Instead, it featured a dog and a young boy who owned a time machine and would scoot around the spacetime continuum making little tweaks that would allow events to play out as our history records them. Now it’s a movie about an unconventional father and son trying to make their way in a crazy mixed-up world that seems hell-bent upon tearing their happy little history-altering world apart.
