n This Unit
Your child will learn to count and write numbers from 0 - 20. Then they will practice determining position by using ordinal numbers. Your child will learn tens and ones and practice skip counting by using coins. 3 tens 2 ones
They will learn to determine whether a number is even or odd. Your child will use fact families to build number sentences. They will group objects by given amounts and determine the remainder.
At Home Activities Give your child a small amount of dry food (such as pasta) and have them place it into equal groups of two or three and determine the remainder (if any).
Lesson 7 - Counting Tens and Ones From 8 0 to 99 Lesson 8 - Skip Counting Lesson 9 - Money Lesson 10 - Odd or Even? Lesson 11 - Addition and Subtraction Facts Lesson 12 - Grouping Objects
Ways to Help Help reinforce the value of coins and tens and ones by using real coins. Give your child a number and have them represent it using the coins. You can also lay out the coins and have them give you the value.

Your child will learn how to add and subtract up to 18. They will first practice by using images and numbers, then numbers only, and finally, word problems.
Lesson 7 - Adding to I I , I 2, and I 3 Lesson 8 - Subtracting From I I, I 2, and I 3 Lesson 9 - Adding to I 4, I 5, and I 6 Lesson 10 - Subtracting From I 4, I 5, and I 6

Lesson 11 - Adding to I 7 and I 8 Lesson 12 - Subtracting From I 7 and I 8 Lesson 13 - Problem Solving
At Home Activities Write the numbers from 0 - 18 on index cards. Then write the symbols "+, " "-, " and "=" on another set of cards. Provide your child with three number cards that can form a number sentence in any order (18, 6, 12 or 15, 7, 8, etc.). Have them put the symbols into the number sentence to make it correct (without changing the order of the numbers).

Unit 2 Adding and Subtracting to I8
Ways to Help Help reinforce addition and subtraction by incorporating it into your daily life. Have your child help with grocery shopping. Hand your child a bag with a small amount of items (for example, two apples) and have them add more. Or hand them a bag with too many and have them remove some. Ensure to keep the numbers between 0 - 18.
