Sensei Heiko Rommlemann Heiko has well over 20 years of Judo and Jujitsu experience. He was a member of the U.S. Jujitsu Team from 1987 - 1990 and was a Gold Medalist at the 1990 World Jujitsu Championships. Heiko has also represented the U.S. at six Pan-Am Championships (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008) for Judo Kata and was a 3 time Gold Medalist at the 2007 and 2008 Pan Am Championships. Heiko was a competitor at the 2007 1st Kodokan International Kata Tournament in Tokyo, Japan and a competitor in the 2008 International Judo Federation 1st World Kata Cup in Paris France. He also was a competitor in the 2nd World Kata Championship held by the International Judo Federation in Malta in 2009. Heiko is the Activities Director at the YMCA/YWCA International Judo Camp (New York) and has been an instructor at the Spirit of the Eagle International Judo Camp (Ohio). He is also the Co-Developer of the Ground Defensive Tactics that was taught and used by the Rochester Police Department Defensive Tactics Unit. Heiko is also the head instructor of the Bushido Kai Judo Club in Penfield, NY.
You will have the opportunity to learn the importance of breakfalls. On the mat you will have the opportunity to learn three of the judo breakfalls (ura, yoko, and zempo ukemi). As the clinic progresses judo throws will also be incorporated, demonstrating the importance of learning to take a proper breakfall.
