The overrated raise of world population brings the need of new shelterings as the population on the cities increases enormously. The researchs on population raise show that 80 % of the world will be living in the cities by 2050. This is a huge number. The land scarcity in the cities needs to be solved for this level of population. But what if this is not possible? What we need to do is not solving land scarcity, but be resilient with it . Housing Public project aims to give people an environment that is appropriate for human nature within the intensive city conditions. There are a lot of deaf facades in big cities. What the project does is taking these facades as an advantage, using them as new lands. Parasiting to the deaf facades and contibuting to the city is the main intention. The good part is it can be adapted into any deaf facade in any city. In this project, Levent&GĂźltepe district is chosen to work on because it is a problematic urban area within itself. The boundaries in this part of the city is quite visible and disturbing. The project aims to deal with these conditions of the area in order to remove the barriers and permeate into the city. In this context, the concept of private, public and housing is questioned and a new concept is propesed.

Levent is a multilayered district as a central business cente after 1980s, as a shanty town after 1950s, and as an urban protected area with the corporate housings in post republic period. These layers bring different people from different culture, ethnicity and people from different economic and educational levels together, in the same area. Levent is a very interesting point, because of that situation. Although they live in the same area, they are not gathering and doing something together. They just live their lives in their own small districts. Büyükdere Street and the shopping malls create a major effect on this, as being urban barriers. The Barriers can be easly red from the aerial photographes as a physical situation, but it is not that simple. People are being seperated into groups according to where they live and do not gather with the ‘others’; mostly because of the urban barriers.

As explained before, Levent district has a lot of people from different culture, education and economy but there were problems about gathering these people in the same area. The library aims to the conncetion point, where different people come together.

Circulation/Street Private Housings are generally taken as private an closed places, creating barriers in the cities and has no real contribution to the city. The new popular housing typology in Istanbul is the apartements with surrouding walls. Aprt from being close to the city, this way of buildings is actually creating an insecure environment. Does it have to be that way? Housing Public Project suggests a new concept of housing. Removing the boundaries and contributing to the city is aimed. The housing units are arranged trying to create a healthy relation within itself and with the city. Aiming that, public spaces are proposed within the same structure of the housing, working with the same circulation. Vertical gardens and urban living rooms are created throughout the structure of the housings. In this approach it can be stated that the public spaces work as a binder with the city and the housings. The yellow parts in the diagram on the left shows the public parts. It can be presumed as the streets continuing in the circulation of the housings. In this way, concepts of private and public are questioned. The distance between private and public can actually be defined as boundary and here it decreases in an humanistic way.
DWELLERS Feyza and Berkay are young couple, living together. Feyza is a singer and Berkay is a doctor. They chosed a 40 m² house. They wanted only one big bedroom, with a big closet and a work area. Apart from that they want a sitting and eating area. Their house is designed in a couple of weeks. The house they chose has a private balcony, shared with the next house. Ali, lives alone in their next door. He is a writer and he wants a peaceful and quiet house. He chose a 20 m² house. He wanted a small bedroom and a small kitchen with a sitting area. He has a balcony shared with Feyza and Berkay.

VERTICAL FARM
nimal
Vertical Animal Farm is an integration of traditional and industrial farming that conceived as a result of the land scarcity. It works as a big factory in a way that creates both a natural environment for the animals and a production&market area. The main goal is creating vertical areas that cows can wander and graze freely like in conventional farms. Milk and dairy products are produced within the same area. It also has a market for selling them without need of delivery and distrubition. This is a huge step forward for reducing expenses and energy consumption. The norht side of the building, containing the market, is an opening through the sea, creating a public area where people can spend some time without intearction with the animals. People also have an opportunutiy to meet the animals in their grassland during certain times. The huge roof, covering nearly the whole building is designed as a garden in order to cultivate corn for the cows. The building is self sufficient through utilizing renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy. North facade’s design is based on wind parameters, aiming both protection from the northern wind and producing energy with pivoted facade elements.

View in the project site
In fourty years time period, the cities will become much more industralized and there will be less space for green. It will be unusual to see a cow for a child. The project provides people to come and see animals, play with them in the field.
Cows are needed to be milked twice a day. Their milk is stored and pasteurisatedon the project site. Afterwards the milk is bottled and ready to be selled.
The carpark area is not separated from the rest of the project. It is on the marketplace side where people can visit by car, do their shopping and leave easily. It has a beuatiful view of the sea as well.

KARAKÖY HISTORY MUSEUM Pera Tershane Galata
Istanbul has been one of the most important cities in the world for centuries and has witnessed important events. This historic texture can be felt all over the city. Karaköy Galata region is also very important in this sense. At least since the 4th century, there is active settlement in the region. The region gained commercial significance by Geneose coming in the Byzantine period. Although it is not used for the purpose of maritime trade today, trades still continue by artisans. With the disappearance of the importance of maritime business in a region with such an intertwined sea, and the transfer of Perşembe Pazarı tradesmen to Perpa, the region has become desolate and has lost its former vitality. Especially after the republican period, the plans for regulating the region led to various breaks. The most important of these are the practices of the Adnan Menderes period in the 50s, which are mostly based on creating main roads to the region without considering the conditi ons of the region, and in the 80s, those that happened during the mayor of Bedrettin Dalan and targeted the Perşembe Pazari region and its cost line. The result of these misapplications is desolation of the region.

TRACES OF PERVETITICH
The purpose of this project is to get people down to the depths of history through the museum, to create history and city awareness. It is the society that does not react to these as much as the irresponsible government practices are the main responsibility of the breaks. The greatest reason why society does not react is that they are not aware of the historical facts of their own city. It is not expected to know or care about the historical inns in the region from a youth who knows Karaköy as a cafeteria region. With this project, it is aimed to inform Karaköy Galata region and its potentials to the public.

JEWISH IMMIGRATION MUSEUM
Eastern European Jews began to immigrate to the United States in large
1860: 200.000 German Jews started to move to the USA
Millions of Jewish people were forced to leave their country throuhout the world because of their religion and culture. Unfortunately this situation is still continuing even today. It is the shame of the whole world and the whole humanity. Jewish people don’t interact with their living spaces and architecture because of their temporary destinations. This creates the idea of transience; however inconsistently it is clear that Jewish people have a lot of ingrained cultural values. This situation made me create a space, in between the walls of Zulfaris Synogogue, that people will experience the idea of immigration, while reading how Jewish people are theated, as well as the idea of discrepancy.
2015 saw 31,000 Jewish individuals
Sephardic settlers arrived in New Amsterdam in 1654 from Brazil
Spanish and Portuguese Jews expelled and immigrated Ottoman Empire after 1600s.
2015 saw 31,000 Jewish individuals from around the globe make Aliyah to Israel
WORLDWIDE ROTATION OF JEWISH IMMIGRATION
Karakรถy can be defined as hearth of Istanbul, a transportation center and trade center. It is a very crowded place, full of people going around the city. This circulation role makes Karakรถy even more important. Zulfaris Synagog is at the very center of Karakรถy which is a great opportunity to create awareness for Jewish immigration.

Bittiğinde yerine konulacak enerji varsa neden şu anda kullanılamıyor da yerine şu an buradan atılıyoruz? Yürüyen evimle birlikte kaçıyoruz buralardan, bir başka toprağa sürüklenircesine… Nereye kadar kaçacağız, bilmiyorum.
A PROPOSAL FOR ISTIKLAL CADDESİ
A PROPOSAL FOR HOUSING
New way of housing, and the view of it in a regular city.
ABONDONED CITY
Humanity came to a point that the wars are getting normal day by day because it is getting into our everyday life. There is a big destruction in the our lands and we, the ones who are aware of this situation ,do nothing. Is there a way to stop this destruction? These illustrations are created for showing this destruction. The cities, buildings that we live in are getting worse day by day, and it means loosing all our values.
Drawing with blindcontour feels like walking eyes closed, triggers totally different senses. You have the ability of feeling the movement of your hand on every inch of paper as if your hand follows your eye, scared of losing it. The process is of curiosity, it is hard to keep our eyes away from the paper. Even one glimpse can ruin the soul of the drawing.
“In the time after construction, buildings take on the qualities of the place wherein they are sited” says David Leatherbarrow, in his book On Weathering. The architecture carry the traces of its nature, that's what makes it alive. Surface Dweller aims integrating the surface of the place with the drawing in order to get the feeling of the place on the paper. After the plan of the site is drawn by all of us, we individually work on the elevation of what we see in front of us. I was impressed when I see the final product: the trace of the surface, wooden details was remarkably on our paper.
The continuous line from Ayvansaray to Edirnekapı. The old walls of the city are continuous as the line itself. Taking a line for a walk, the city walls from 5th century is traced, within the ongoing life of the neighbourhood. It was remarkable to see them together, how the city is integrated with the walls, how the walls attached to their lives. The walls was sometimes out of sight and I was thinking maybe it was the end of the wall. But it never ended through our journey. The walls were suddenly emerged from behind the buildings. This situation can be seen clearly in the drawing.

The factory comes with the same primary function in place of the former Kadıköy Pier in Karaköy. This time, however, the orientation and the added secondary function are different. This project, which takes its inspiration from the book of Gündüz Vassaf's Road Friend, aims to provide an efficient and enjoyable secondary function for the compulsory waiting areas such as stations, airports, docklands. Nowadays, although the time spent in the waiting areas can be overlooked by the designer, especially with the spread of mobile communication devices, the Factory aims to provide a more efficient approach to the subject. How does the ferry pier, which is a short-lived wait and transit, become a contemporary venue that is pleasant and convenient to collect? We see that open source, maker-lab users and contemporary art followers can spread to a narrow mass when we are opening doors to a new era of production freedom with digitization. While the way of the large sections of society do not intersect with these developments, it is aimed to provide this acquaintance to the factory. As far as Karaköy-Kadıköy ferry journey is concerned, it invites the tourists, tradesmen, students, fishermen, workmen from Karaköy to observe the production and the exhibition of the products that are produced on the side. The end of the road leads to the view of Topkapı with the direction of the building. As a location, Karaköy has a big role in the selection of Perşembe Pazarı, bringing together the traditional manufacturer and the current manufacturer. Logistics saves time and energy at this point. On the north side, the feet form a space for the incoming passenger. While the hasty passenger reaches the ferry from the shortest route without making any deviation, the flanger can testify to different works and scenes from different elevations. Thus circulations do not interfere.

Cavity gardens project aims to interpret the empty spaces in the city as city gardens, to use the abondoned areas that creates public spaces. The purpose is giving a new identity to inert areas. Nowadays, the cities are so crowded that it is not very possible to have wide parks. The cavity gardens are designed to be vertical, in order to have more public space in a smaller land.
