PERSONAL PRESENTATION Summary of Your Learning Working in your pairs, you have 45 minutes to develop a presentation to summarise your day. You can use PowerPoint, flip charts, cue cards, notes, etc. Your presentation should be approximately five minutes long and you may be asked to present to the whole group in the final session of the day. Your presentation should address the following areas:
What do you believe are the key attributes of successful leadership?
What sort of leader are you?
What three things will you each do to develop yourself as a leader?
Who did you choose as your leadership role models?
Have your leadership role models changed during the day? If so, why? If not, why not?
Planning a Presentation Think about the why, who, what, where, when, and how!
Why? What’s the purpose of your presentation – to inform? To persuade? To explain?
Who? Who is the audience? Who are you making the presentation to? Your boss/teacher? Your friend?
What? What’s the content? What’s it about? What’s your key message? Have you selected key information? How will you structure the presentation? Beginning – Middle – Close?
Where? Where will you make the presentation? Informal? Formal? How will you adapt your style to the context?
When? When? How will your presentation link to what’s gone before? What follows? Time of day?
How? How will you get the message over? What form will your presentation take? What aids will you use to get the message over? Music? Visuals? Data? Change of pace? Repetition?
